Kraftin' Kimmie Koasters!

Well, hello to everyone, I hope you have all had a Blessed Christmas and that you are looking forward to a new year full of opportunities and adventures! Ours was a wonderful Christmas celebration complete with all of our family, little though it is, as our two kids are first generation Canadians, so we, they and their children are all of our family in Canada. Still, we are growing and we were blessed with a new darling baby granddaughter in September, so we were one more on Christmas, which is so special.
Anyway, it has been a very busy time and I had hoped to get this post up long before now. I made some winter tile coasters using some of my favourite Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and since they are not just for Christmas, I decided I could still show them.
I used Ozzie and Harriet, Oliver, Maxwell Snowboarding and Bernadette. Poor girl was a bit too big, so I had to put her on diagonally!! I used Stazon Black Ink, coloured with my S.U. Markers, then sprayed 3 times with Plaid Patricia Nimocks Clear Acrylic Sealer. I have used it before on other coasters and it works great, keeps the marks off nicely. I had forgotten how much fun it was to stamp and colour tile coasters. I have made several sets in the past for other folks for Christmas, but had never done any for myself and by using these images, I can keep them out all winter.
Happy New Year everyone,
I hope to be back on January 2nd. with a new Challenge from Kraftin' Kimmie, so watch for it!
Blessings to you all,
Diana

Shy Emmylou

Well, Hi and Happy Saturday all you crafty creators out there. Today I'm showing you a card I made using Kraftin' Kimmie's 'Shy Emmylou'. This image was created for Kimmie to celebrate her adorable daughter Emileigh, whom we've always nicknamed Emmylou. I love this stamp and not just because it's named after my darling granddaughter. There is another stamp called Emmylou's Gift and it's gorgeous also.

For this card I coloured Emmylou with my S.U. Markers, then matted her onto Crushed Curry and put some little pink half pearls on the corners. I used some K and Company Berry Sweet DP for a rectangle to the side of Emmylou, also matted on Crushed Curry. I used some more Berry Sweet DP for the large square, which I also matted onto CC, then onto the card base, which is Sage Shadow. I punched some flowers and set them onto some Crushed Curry polka dot ribbon, which I tied around the small piece of DP. I put some more pink half pearls in the centres, stamped Hello Dolly and punched it out with my window punch and there you have it.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I hope to be back soon with some more 'stuff'.

Blessings,
Diana

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #10

Well, Hi everybody out there. Once again I have not managed to get on here all week, but I'm hoping to do better in the New Year!! Well, things are supposed to slow down then, aren't they?!!

Our hostess for this week's Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge is the very talented, but slightly 'off the wall' Andrea!! We love you though Andrea! Well, Andrea want us to glitter up our cards or creations. Now who doesn't like to use glitter and sparkles on their cards, I know I do, when I remember!! The randomly picked winner gets to win the stamp that our hostess uses on her card and I believe Andrea is using Josephine. This is a fabulous stamp and such fun to colour.

I used Small Talk for my card and of course I used my S.U. markers to colour her in. The card base is Certainly Celery and I used several different pieces of S.U.'s Flowers 4 U and matted the image on Pretty in Pink. I used Stardust Stickles on Cindy's dress, shoes and bow. I painted all the prima flowers with Angel Wings Shimmerz and used clear gemstone brads in the centres. I stamped Happy Birthday from Kimmie's Everyday Sentiments on Lavender Lace, then put it on some sparkly white cardstock. I'm afraid the card doesn't look very glittery in the picture, but it is in real life.

Okay ladies, now it's your turn to get out all your glittery embellies and stuff and show us your wonderful creations. Have fun,

Blessings,
Diana

Challenge #9, A Gift Card Holder!

Well, it's time for another Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge. I can't believe it's number 9 already! This time, our super talented Vicki wants us to make a gift card holder. Now, I have to confess I was a little worried about this one as I have only ever once made one before and couldn't even remember how I did it. So this really was a challenge for me. However, thanks to my DD Kraftin' Kimmie, I was able to track down the tutorial for it and it was actually fun to make.

I just had to use cute little Oliver, one of Crissy's Cuties as I thought he was perfect for this and I love an excuse to play with him. I coloured in Oliver using my S.U. Markers, then matted him on Almost Amethyst. I used Stardust Stickles on his hat and finished with a snowflake punched out of glittery cardstock. The body of the holder is Lavender Lace and I used some unknown dp behind Ollie.

On the inside, I used some matching dp behind the pocket, then a strip of the same dp as on the front along the top of the pocket. I used some Amethyst twill ribbon to close the card and that's it. Great fun and now I have a gift card holder ready to give to someone for Christmas and I want to make some more!!

Make sure you go to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog to see what all the other Krafty Girls have come up with, then let's see what you have for us!! I can't wait to see all the different ideas that I can 'borrow'! When you link your creations to Kimmie's Blog, one lucky lady will win the Ozzie and Harriet stamp and the accessory stamp, 'Just Skating By' as that's the one Vicki has used for her awesome creation.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend with a little time to stamp,

Blessings,

Diana

Yahoo and Yippee and WooHoo and all that stuff!!

Well, it's finally here. Time once again for a Kraftin' Kimmie Release. The December Release in fact. Kimmie has a whole new selection of goodies for you (and me) to drool over. These stamps are so cute and clever, I love them all!
Now, before I get to my card, I must tell you that we are having another fun blog hop this month. You will get to see all the creations of the Krafty Girls, plus some special guests who are taking part also and sharing their talents with us. If you have just happened to land here from somewhere else, you will want to go back to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog as that's where the hop begins. If you have come here from Cindy's Blog, you are where you're supposed to be and your next stop is Michele's Blog and I know both ladies have some awesome stuff to show. Three lucky stampers are going to each win a package of some of the new release stamps and will be randomly chosen from some of the Blogs along the way, so if you leave a comment on each of the stops, you will have more chances to win the blog candy.
Now to my card, I used the new stamp 'Lola Da Vinci'. She comes with the painting accessory stamp. Isn't she cute? I coloured her in with my S.U. Markers, matted her on Riding Hood Red, then pop dotted her on some foof a la paper, which was also matted onto a Riding Hood Red card base. I made the corner pieces from some So Saffron, which I ran through my Paisley EF. I also coloured the painting, matted it on RHR and set it askew in the corner. I used some RHR ribbon, stamped 'You Colour My World' also on So Saffron, which is one of the sentiments from Kimmie's Fun Sentiments set which is also released today. I punched it with my Window Punch, set it below the ribbon, added some flowers and there you have it.
Hope you have fun hopping the rest of the way and don't forget to go to Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps website when you're done, as all the new stamps will be there and ready for you!!
Happy Sunday everyone,
Blessings,
Diana

Saturday Challenge #8 and Preview #2

Hi again all you stamping enthusiasts! I'm back as promised with another preview for the December Release of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. Today I have a card using Jean Grant's oh so cute illustration called Daddy's Little Girl, which comes with the stamp I used, 'Beary Special Friend'. The characters in the image are called Cindy and Mindy, Mindy being the bear.

This card is also for the Kraftin' Kimmie Blog Challenge, which is hosted this week by our Crissy Armstrong and she wants us to get 'Touchy Feely' with our cards, that is to use different textures on our creations, such as embossing, flowers, fibers, anything we fancy to make it 'Touchy Feely'.

I used Bermuda Bay for the base and stitched some My Mind's Eye Bloom and Grow dp onto it. I coloured the image with my S.U. Markers, matted it onto Really Rust, then put a piece of Old Olive behind it, which I had embossed with my Paisley EF. I added some cute Prima Flowers and finished up with the accessory stamp. Pretty simple, but I like it.

So why don't you check out the rest of the KraftyGirls creations previewing the new Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and also head on over to Kimmie's Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the girls have created for the challenge. Then let's see your creations.

Have a wonderful weekend, see you on Sunday for the Release. Yahoo, I can't wait!!

Blessings,

Diana

Preview for Kraftin' Kimmie's December Release!!

Good day all you stampers out there! I just can't believe it's been almost a week since I last posted. I don't know how my daughter used to post a new card every day. And she works!!
Anyway, I'm so excited as it's that time again! Time, that is to start showing a few sneaky peeks at some of the new Kraftin' KimmieStamps, which will be released on Sunday. It's even a bit early as this is officially Kimmie's December Release. The team of Krafty Girls will be showing previews today and tomorrow, then of course on Sunday for the release. We have some even more fabulous images for you this time, there are even a couple by a new artist this time, her name is Jean Grant. I will be posting one of her images tomorrow, I love her style.
The image I used today is called Gift Emmylou and she was created by our own fabulous Crissy Armstrong. I think this image is so adorable. She is named for Kimmie's own daughter, who of course is my sweet and wonderful granddaughter. Her name is Emileigh, but we've always nicknamed her Emmylou.
I used Orchid Opulence for the card base and K and Company's Berry Sweet for the patterned paper, which is matted onto Melon Mambo, which I also used for the strip between the two papers, which I used a flower border punch on. Emmylou is cut out with a labels Nestie, then popped up on a larger matching Nestie piece in Orchid Opulence. I coloured her with my S.U. Markers, sponged around her with Pink Pirouette, then finished with some polka dotted Melon Mambo ribbon, some mauve heart gems and some stickles on her bow. Phew, it takes me longer to write a description of how I made the card, than it does to make it!!
Anyway, be sure to pop around to the blogs of the rest of the Krafty Girls and see what they have created to show you.
I'll be back again tomorrow to show you the next card, meanwhile have a great Saturday, hope you find a little time for some stamping.
Blessings,
Diana

Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge #7

Well, I just got back from spending a couple of days with my daughter Kraftin' Kimmie and my darling granddaughter Emileigh. We did some Christmas shopping, worked on cutting and packaging some Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps ready for shipping and we even found time for Kimmie to give me a Copics lesson, which was great fun. Now I just need the Copics!! Hint to my hubby, as if he ever reads this!!

Okay, I'm the hostess for this week's Kraftin' Kimmie Blog Challenge. This week is number 7, so if you put your cards on Splitcoast, be sure to put KKSC7 in the Keywords, so we can all see your creations when we go there. For this week I chose 'Happy Winter, Merry Christmas', so you can do either (or both). Not too hard at this time of the year, right? We are at least thinking about making our Christmas cards now even if we're not already working on them. As usual, you don't have to use Kraftin' Kimmie stamps, but if you do have some, why not use them?!! I used Bernadette for my card with the accompanying sentiment 'You're Snow Sweet', so those are the stamps that the randomly picked winner will receive. Don't ya just love Bernadette?
For this card I used some DCWV Christmas papers matted onto some Certainly Celery, then on a Bashful Blue base. I stamped Bernadette on Watercolour paper, coloured her in using my S.U. Markers, then cut her out with my labels nesties. I popped her up on a coordinating piece of matching dp, put another matching piece of the dp across the middle, punched out some sparkly blue snowflakes, used some sparkly blue ribbon, then used the matching sentiment stamped on Certainly Celery and that's it.
Make sure you go to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog and see what the other Krafty Girls have come up with, then do your own thing and link up your creations to the Blog for us all to see. One of you gals will win Bernadette and sentiment just in time to use for your own winter cards.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend,
see you again soon,
Blessings,
Diana

Kimmie's Challenge #6, Lots o' Circles

Hi ladies, it's been a very busy week once again, I guess we all have that problem! Anyway, it's time for Kraftin Kimmie's Challenge #6. This week's hostess is the oh, so talented Andrea and she wants us to use 'Lots o' Circles' on our creations.

This gave me an excuse to use my Circle Nesties along with my Pinking Nesties. I used the very cute Maxwell Snowboarding stamp from the November Release of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. He looks every bit as adorable snowboarding on his leaf as he did leaning on a toadstool and toasting a giant marshmallow in the October Release.

I started out with some yummy shiny patterned paper from Me and My Big Ideas, matted it onto some Bashful Blue cardstock for the base. I coloured in Maxwell with my S.U. Markers and punched him out with my circle Nesties, then used Riding Hood Red for the Pinking layer behind. I used the Chill Out sentiment from Kimmie's Holiday Sentiments, (Maxwell comes with the accessory stamp, Snow Much Fun) and cut out the smallest Pinking Circle to mat it onto. I finished with some Riding Hood Red ribbon and a poinsettia with some M.S. leaves behind it. Oh, and I also put some Star Dust Stickles on the snow.

Well, I hope you all have a fabulous weekend with some time for stamping!! Don't forget to make a card using circles for Kimmie's Challenge this week. I'll be looking to check out yours!!

Blessings,

Diana

Engagement Card

Happy Sunday afternoon everyone! It's a gorgeous day here in S.W. Ontario and I should be out cleaning up my garden, but I'm not!!

This is just a simple card I put together this afternoon for a very dear young couple who just got engaged. I pulled out an old Stampin' Up set that I haven't used for a long time, but I do like it. I just don't make a whole lot of engagement or wedding cards. For this I was able to stick with my Whisper White cardstock instead of my watercolour paper as I didn't have to colour this one. That doesn't happen too often any more. I used my hearts EF for the main layer and matted it onto some silver paper, which I love using, but I'm very cheap with it as it's hard to find. The base is also Whisper White.

I stamped the image in Versamark and then heat embossed it with silver detail embossing powder. I matted it also on silver paper. I put silver ribbon with a bow across the front and used a couple of heart brads below. Oh, and I put a clear gemstone on one of the engagement rings. I saw that on another card somewhere, sorry I don't remember where.
Well, it's time to get ready to go and watch our grandson play hockey! I sure wish ice arenas were warmer, at least warmer than this one is!!
Blessings to you all,
Diana

Antoinette in Stitches!

Well, it's Saturday, so time for another Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge. This week it's time to Stitch it Up!! Use any kind of stitching on your card, either real or faux. I love to sew on my cards, so this was fun. Niki is the hostess for this challenge and since she is using Oliver on her card, this is the stamp you have a chance to win this week. Oliver is such fun to use and so very cute, who wouldn't want to add him to their collection!

I used Antoinette from the November Release of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I love this stamp, when I look at her face, it makes me think of joy. She just seems to be so full of joy she can't keep it all inside. What a wonderful way to feel!!

I used Whisper White for the base and matted the snowflake paper on Lavender Lace. I used my square Scalloped Nesties for both Antoinette and the frame, which is Almost Amethyst. I used Brocade Blue for the bottom strip, on which I stamped the snowflakes with white craft ink, then heat embossed them with white EP. The snowflake is the accessory stamp that comes with Antoinette. I stitched around all the borders with a matching mauve thread and finished off the image with some Dewdrops and some Waterfall Stickles on the dress hem and bobbles.

Well, I hope you have fun making your stitched or faux stitched cards, can't wait to check them all out.

Have a great weekend,

Blessings,

Diana

Cute Card Thursday Challenge!

Today I have a card I made for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge. Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps just happens to be the sponsor for this week!

Wow, this was different for me. The challenge is to use only primary colours, blue, yellow and red. Well, my colours are as primary as I can get them and I am kinda happy with all those bright colours even though I would never put them together like this normally. I know somebody will love to get a bright card with a cute penguin on it

I used Oliver the penguin from the new release of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I just love him (or her, if you want to make him into Olivia. I've seen some gorgeous Ollie creations done in pinks) and he's the perfect size for using in some of our Nesties. I used Brilliant Blue for my card base and stitched some YoYo Yellow onto it with red thread. I used pieces of Cricut Celebrations on the yellow and stitched the striped rectangle. I used some more Brilliant Blue behind Oliver after running it through my Small Mosaics EF. I used my oval Nesties for the image, which is coloured with S.U. markers and repeated the red patterned paper for the scalloped layer. I used the Cheers sentiment, also from the new Kimmie Stamps release and finished off with some red and blue snowflakes and some royal blue polka dot ribbon.

Don't forget that the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge for this week is to make a card with some kind of a tag on it, you have till Friday to work on that and then on Saturday there will be a brand new challenge for you.

Till then, happy stamping and God Bless you.

November Release Day!! Hooray!!

Today is the day that all the new release stamps are visible and available at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I'm so excited!! There are some I haven't yet got around to playing with, so I can't wait. And we've got a fun Krafty Blog Hop going on to celebrate!!

If you just happened upon my blog, you might want to go over to the Challenge Blog which is the beginning of the hop. And make sure to comment at every stop along the way because there are lots of Krafty Kandy treats to be won!!

For this card I used the adorable Ozzie and Harriet image. Aren't they cute skating around together? I used Ballet Blue for the base, matted my DCWV Christmas Stack papers onto the white border. I coloured in Ozzie and Harriet with my S.U. Markers and cut them out with my Labels Nesties. I sponged around them while they were still in the frame and I also used Stardust Stickles for the snow. I used some more dp behind them, matted onto some Riding Hood Red, which I also used behind the sentiment, which by the way comes with Ozzie and Harriet. Then I finished with some Riding Hood Red striped ribbon.

Now keep on hoppin!! Your next stop is over at Andrea's blog!! Let's see what new image, she's been playing with!!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Kimmie's 4th. Blog Challenge and another Preview Card

Well, Happy Saturday everyone!! Hope you are having a great weekend. I have had such fun this week creating cards with some of the images from Kraftin' Kimmie's November Release and it's almost time. Today is the day for Kimmie's 4th. Blog Challenge and this week our hostess with the mostest is the wonderful Tara. Tara wants us all to make cards with a tag on. Whatever kind of tag you like, you can make your own or use the pre-made ones, whatever your little heart desires.

For this card I used the awesome new stamp Bernadette. Isn't she cute? She is yet another creation by the wonderfully talented Crissy Armstrong. Oh, to have Crissy's talent!! Sigh....

Anyway, I used my Canson watercolour paper and coloured Bernadette using my Stampin' Up markers. Then I used my Labels 7 Nesties to put her on and sponged around her while she was still in the frame. I put some Real Red behind her and also some of the DCWV Christmas Stack paper, both using the same Nesties frame. The card base is Night of Navy as is the strip across the lower part. I stamped the sentiment on a tiny Labels 7 Nestie and made it a tag, tied with S.U. Silver Cord. I finished with a couple of M.S. Punch Snowflakes and that's it!

Now, let's see your creations using tags. I can't wait!! And don't forget to come back tomorrow for our November Release Blog Hop where you can win some Kraftin' Kimmie goodies!!!

Hope you all have a blessed weekend,

Diana

Oliver is Just Chillin'

Well, I just made it by the skin of my teeth. Getting this card finished, I mean!! Today has been a crazy day, I went twice to line up to get my H1N1 'flu shot and gave it up as a bad job and came home both times. When I went back to try again this evening, I was hoping the lines might be shorter, but no dice. After standing there for about 45 minutes, I was freezing cold and barely any closer to the building than when I started. Then somebody said you would be waiting another half hour once you got inside. That was enough for me, I came home. Then I got called out again on an errand of mercy, so I almost didn't get this finished.

Anyway, this is my second effort for the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps November Release Preview. Phew, say that three times fast!! This is Oliver, who is so cute, I want a real one. I didn't have a lot of time to think about what I was going to do, so I hope I've done him justice. I know the other Krafty Girls sure have! And don't forget that ALL of the new images will be available on Sunday, November 1st!! Woohoo!

I used Real Red for the base and the border behind the polka dot paper. The patterned paper is from my DCWV Christmas Stack, which I love. I used my Labels Four Nesties to sit Oliver on and matted him on some Wild Wasabi. I used a smaller frame from the Nesties to put the sentiment on, which by the way comes with Oliver. I used some sparkly red cardstock for the snowflakes and finished Oliver's hat off with some Diamond Dust Twinklets. They don't show up well in the photo, but they do IRL.

Anyway, make sure you check out the blogs of the rest of the Krafty Girls, they have some gorgeous cards to show. I'll be back tomorrow with another sneak peek for you.

Till then stay well and happy,

God Bless You,

Diana

First Sneak Peek of Kraftin' Kimmie's November Release

Hi to all you stampers out there. I'm SOOOOOO excited! It's time to start the sneak peeks for Kimmie's November Release! All the images are so awesome! I didn't think the artists could top last months', but I believe they have.

My first card to show you one of the new stamps is Piper. I think she's adorable and she comes with the cute accessory stamp of the mug of hot cocoa or something hot and steaming anyway. The new stamps go live on Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps on Sunday, November 1st. If you check out the other Krafty Girls' Blogs, you will find that some of them will be showing some of the new images between now and Sunday.

Don't forget about Kimmie's Blog Challenge too. This week is the 3rd. Challenge and you are to use fall colours for this one, either rust, brown and green, or rust, brown and yellow. I managed to use them all in mine, but that was just 'cos I found some dp with all those colours. I've been checking out the ones that have been linked to Kimmie's Challenge Blog and they are all wonderful!

Well, if I can get another card ready to post tomorrow, I will do so, then you can see another of the great new images, if not I have one ready for Saturday, so I'll see you then.

Have a wonderful Thursday,
Blessings,
Diana

Kraftin' Kimmie Blog Challenge #3

Well, it's Saturday again and you know what that means. Another Kraftin' Kimmie Blog Challenge. This week it's the fabulous Vicki who is the hostess with the mostest and she chose for us all to make a card using fall colours rust, brown and green, or rust, brown and yellow. Great idea, right? I mean, we could all use some fall cards to send right now. I know I could.

For this one, I used sweet Daisy Doodles, colouring her in with my S.U. Markers and embossing her with my square Nesties. I used Apricot Appeal for the base and the strip across the middle, matted my dp, which is now unknown as I've had it so long (but I thought the colours were perfect for this) on Old Olive and I used Really Rust for the Scalloped Square to go behind my image. I finished off with a few yummy matching flowers with rhinestone brads for a little 'bling'.

Now, let's see what you are going to create this week. I can hear all the wheels turning already and I know we're going to get to see some awesome cards!! Come on girls, I need some cool stuff to check out!

Blessings,
Diana

Simply Get Well

Hi everyone! Well, I did say I might be back before Saturday and I am! It's been another busy day, but I took the time to make a card to send to my daughter-in-laws' father, who has suffered a stroke a few days ago. My son and family were heading up to Toronto this evening to spend the weekend visiting and taking care of him at the hospital. I wanted to send this card with them, but they left early and I missed them, so I guess I'll have to send it to him!!

Anyway, since I was trying to get it to them before they left, I kept it fairly simple this time. In fact it's been a long time since I made a card like this and it seemed strange. I mean, no colouring, what's with that?!! It was fun though and it was nice to find I can still do a quick one if I need to.

I used a Stampin' Up set called All Natural and inked off the background squares on some vanilla (it took me a minute to remember that I had to do that to make the green lighter so it wouldn't overpower the leaves, duh...), then I stamped the leaf three times on top of the squares. I matted it on Chocolate Chip, which I also used for the card base. I used vanilla for the background, having run it through my embossing folder (can't remember the name, is it script? Who can tell me?), then I put a strip of fallish looking patterned paper (nope, don't know what it is either) on one side, backed with some garden green, then I put the sentiment, which is from CC Designs, on a piece of punched vanilla and punched a bigger oval in Garden Green.
To finish it and make it nice and manly, I used some hemp twine across the front.

Well, that's it. I managed to make a simple card sound very complicated, I think!! Now don't forget to check back on Saturday to see what challenge Kraftin' Kimmie has for you to have fun with.

Happy stamping everyone,
Back on Saturday,
Diana

Maxwell for Al!

Well, it's Monday again, I hope everyone had a great weekend. I also hope your weather was warmer than ours in S.W. Ontario. For those of you who live around here, you know what I mean. I guess we must be very thankful that it's not cold enough for snow and it has been quite sunny, but our Pastor said yesterday that we have had 20 days in a row of below average temps, and he wouldn't lie, tee hee!!

Anyway, I used Kraftin' Kimmie's Maxwell again for this card, he is so cute. I made this with our dear son-in-law in mind (Kimmie's hubby). I have to confess that we have been so busy lately that I missed his birthday. I remembered it until a day or two before, then with Thanksgiving etc., it slipped my mind. I hope he forgives us, I think he will still love us anyway!!

Shhhh Kimmie, no telling until the card arrives!!!

I found some cute paper from my K & Company Wild Raspberry pad that I thought was O.K. for a guy. I used Cranberry Crisp to mat the DP on and used Sahara Sand for the base and to mat Maxwell on. I used Barely Banana for the sentiment, which is also from Kraftin' Kimmie and Cranberry Crisp for the larger oval. I finished off with some buttons and some hemp twine. I hope Al likes it even though it is late.

Have a blessed day folks, and I'll be back on Saturday with a card for Kimmie's 3rd. Challenge. I may even be back before if I can get some more cards done!! I'm gonna try.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge #2

Hi all you gals out there! I was really hoping to post again before this, but it's been such a crazy week that I've only found time to make a card for Kimmie's 2nd. Challenge. I so want to have time to play with her stamps some more, maybe I'll do better next week!

This weeks' challenge is to use buttons on your card, which was a bit of a challenge for me as I don't use buttons too much. It was fun though and I was happy with the result. I used Dorothy, the adorable deer created by our Crissy Armstrong. The sentiment, also from Kimmie's Stamps is 'Happy Birthday Deer Friend'. Cute, right?
I used DP from my Basic Grey Lime Rickey pad, which I bought at Scrappin' Great Deals. The blue I matted it on and also used behind the sentiment is from the same pad. I used my Curved Rectangle Nesties for the main image and matted it with the larger size in YoYo Yellow. I finished with some Pumpkin Grosgrain Ribbon and used some pretty buttons from my stash.

So there you are ladies, all you have to do is put a button or twelve on your card and link it up to Kraftin' Kimmies Challenge Blog and one of you will get to win Posy with her accessory stamp. Jeanne is the hostess for this week's challenge and you will see Posy on her beautiful card. Okay, I'm looking forward to checking out all your creations this week.

Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamps First Challenge!

Good morning stampers. Well,it's a much nicer day here in Wallaceburg, Ontario than it was yesterday. It rained non-stop all day and most of the evening. Not nice! Today it is bright and sunny, so a great start to the Thanksgiving weekend.

My card today was made for Kimmie's first blog challenge, which is to make a birthday card. Pretty easy, right? I'm always running out of birthday cards, so I was glad to do this one. Now we know that you may not have any Kimmie stamps, so you can use whatever you like. Just link your card to Kimmie's Challenge Blog and one of you lucky ladies will be randomly picked to choose whichever Kimmie Stamp you like.

If you go to Kimmie's Challenge Blog, you will see some lovely samples from the Design Team. Okay, so many of you ladies will be very busy this weekend hosting Thanksgiving Dinners etc., but you will have until next Friday to post your card. Now let's see what you come up with. I can't wait to check out all the works of art on Kimmie's Challenge Blog.

I used one of the new Kimmie stamps, her name is Posy, I think she's adorable. She is one of the creations of Annie Rodrigue, I just love her style, she's a fabulous artist. I used Making Memories Flower Patch papers and matted my pieces on Wild Wasabi, Barely Banana and Regal Rose. The base is also Barely Banana. I coloured Posy with my S.U. markers and finished up with some Wild Wasabi ribbon.

I pray you will all have a blessed weekend with your loved ones.

Kimmie's Francesca!

Hi all you stampin' gals out there! Hope you are having a great day. I actually got time to play with Francesca as my retired hubby went playing golf and I seem to be able to think better, not to mention goof off better when he is not here.

Anyway, I had lots of fun making a card with Francesca. She is another of the wonderful new images from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I love these images by Annie Rodrigue, they are so different from anything I've used before. Mind you, I still absolutely adore everything by Crissy Armstrong.

I used So Saffron for the cardbase and used some yummy Tea Party DP by S.U. I love the colours in this. I stitched the main square of DP onto a piece of Certainly Celery and I matted the small rectangle on Almost Amethyst. I used my new Labels Six Nesties for the Francesca image and coloured her in with my S.U. Markers. I sponged Pretty in Pink around her, popped her up, then added some pretty Prima Caboodles and some gingham ribbon. Oh, and I stamped the Happy Birthday (which is from Kraftin' Kimmie's Sentiments) with white craft ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I had fun making her, hope you like Francesca.

May God Bless you all today in all you do,

Diana

Daisy Doodle

Well, I want to thank all you girls for your wonderful comments on my blog while you were doing the blog hop. Aren't there some amazing designs along the way? And one of you lucky ladies will win the whole release of Kimmie's Stamps. I can tell you that you will have great fun playing with them, I sure am.

Today's card from Kraftin' Kimmie's new release is Daisy Doodle, created by the awesome Crissy Armstrong. It's from her Crissy's Cuties line. Daisy is named for Kimmie's crazy Jack Russell terrier. We love her, but she's a nutcase! I coloured Daisy in with my S.U. Markers, cut her out with my Nesties and matted her on a Nesties Scalloped Circle in Bashful Blue. I put a stip of Pumpkin Pie along the lower part, also scalloped with my border punch. I used some Bashful Blue GG ribbon on it and I based it on some patterned paper, which is unknown as I've had it a while. The base is Whisper White and the patterned paper is on a mat of Bashful Blue. For the sentiment, I used my small oval punch and set it on two ovals of Pumpkin Pie.

Well ladies, I hope you have a wonderful day, may God Bless you all,

Diana

Kraftin' Kimmie's Release Day Blog Hop!!!

Well, I hope you are having fun hoppin' along the Blog Hop trail!! I bet you've seen some spectacular designs! We are so thrilled that Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is now open for business!!

If you just happened to land on my blog today, you might want to start over at Kraftin' Kimmie's Korner! If you're following the hop, you've just come from the blog of the amazingly talented Crissy Armstrong! I got to finally meet her yesterday at Kimmie's launch party and it was great! We've 'known' each other through email and blogging and we were on the same design team when I did a guest spot. She is such an inspirational artist!!

The card I have to share with you on the hop today, is an image from Annie Rodrigue! What an imagination this girl has!! This particular image is Lillith!! Isn't she just a hoot??! She looks a tad mischevious I think...don't you? I used some Stampin' Up cardstocks and lovely My Mind's Eye patterned papers. I stamped the image on watercolour paper and coloured her with my Stampin' Up markers. I doodled around the edge and added some polka dot ribbon to dress her up. The sentiment is from the Kimmie's Everyday Sentiments set which is available now too!! Oh and the Lillith image comes with the coordinating accessory stamp....see that cute little froggy in the bottom corner??

Now go hop on over to one of our very special guests....Michele Boyer!! We are so happy she could join us! Her designs are out of this world!! Go and see!!

Happy hopping!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Preview Three!!

Well, today is the last day of previews as tomorrow my dear daughter Kimmie goes live with her new online stamp store!! I'm so proud of that girl, I know how hard she has worked to follow this dream she has had ever since she first started stamping a few years ago! Now it's almost here. Today is her launch party at Scrapping Great Deals and her Dad and I are shortly leaving to drive there and celebrate with her. Did I tell you I'm proud of her? So is her Dad, he thinks she can do anything and so do I!!

Okay, I'll stop bragging on my daughter now and tell you about the card. For this one, I stamped the awesome Roxy and Bernice from Crissy Armstrong's 'Crissy's Cuties'. And what cuties they are, I love this image. I coloured it with my S.U. Markers (wish I could afford to get into Copics). I used Apple Cider DP from Stampin' Up, the card base is Close to Cocoa, then Wild Wasabi and River Rock. I used Really Rust to make the Scalloped square nestie base for the image, then popped it up and used some Wild Wasabi and River Rock stitched ribbon.

Well, I have to get ready to go, so I pray you will all have a wonderful Sunday. I will be back tomorrow with another Kimmie Stamps card, but it won't be a preview as it will be the big opening day for Kimmie.

Blessings,
Diana

Second Day of Kraftin' Kimmie Previews

Only two more days to go till Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps are available on her new website. This is my second card made with one of her new stamps. Today, I'm showing one using Annie Rodrigue's adorable creations. This is Charlotte, isn't she sassy? I love the way Annie drew her, she has a smirk on her mischievous little face, which makes her quite unique, I think.

I used my S.U. Markers to colour her and I cut her out using my curved rectangle Nesties, then matted her onto a larger one in Lavender Lace and popped it all up. I used some patterned paper from my stash, I'm not sure who made it any more. Then I coloured the little doll, which accompanies the Charlotte stamp, punched her out and framed her on a scalloped circle of retired Bliss Blue. The base is textured Pumpkin Pie and I added some matching Caboodles Prima Flowers. Is she cute, or what?

Tomorrow I get to go to Kimmie's launch party at Scrapping Great Deals in Kilworth, I can't wait to go and meet some of the team of Krafty Girls (those who live close enough to make it) and Crissy Armstrong who creates the adorable Crissy's Cutie images is coming all the way down from Onaping, Ontario to be there. Maybe I'll see YOU there too!!

As Kimmie says, "Only two more sleeps!" Till her company goes live, that is!

Have a blessed day,

Diana

I used all Stampin Up cardstock and designer papers and added some Prima flowers and ribbon. I stamped Maxwell on watercolour paper and coloured him in with my Stampin Up markers.

Did you know that each of the Crissy images comes with a coordinating sentiment stamp?? That's right! This guy comes with this Toasty! sentiment!! How cool!!

Take It Easy

So, did anyone look at the snippets earlier, do you think you have them figured out? Tomorrow all of Kimmie's Krafty Girls will be posting cards using some of Kimmie's new release stamps.

This is a card using one of my favourite High Hopes stamps. This little guy is so cute, only Crissy Armstrong could make an ant look this
adorable.
I made this for the birthday of a male friend in England. I used Manchester dp from Stampin' Up, I love this for a masculine card. I coloured it in using my S.U. markers using Kraft paper for the base and sentiment and finished it off with some Kraft taffeta ribbon.

I hope you will come back tomorrow and see what we all have for you to see.

Have a great day,
Diana

More Sneaky Peeks!!

Well, does anyone have any guesses as to what the last snippets were? Aren't we a bunch of meanies, teasing you this way?

Here are a couple more itty bits of something for you to ponder over.

We are all working on creations to show you beginning on Friday,(hey, that's the day after tomorrow!!) right until Monday the 5th., which is Kraftin' Kimmie's release day. (Did I tell you she's my daughter? Not bragging or anything!! Ha Ha!!) That's why I am not finding time to make and post any new cards at the moment. Well, none that I can show you anyway!! This is torture for me to make cards and not be able to show them off right away.

Well, not too long now. Kimmie must be so excited she can hardly stand it because I know how excited I am and I'm just a very small part of this wonderful new venture of hers!!

Have a wonderful day,
Blessings,
Diana

First Kimmie Teaser!

Well, hi to all you stampin' and craftin' people out there. I said I'd be back sometime soon with a snippet or two of what's in store from Kraftin' Kimmie's new company next Monday. We Krafty Girls have all been working on some things to show you starting next Friday, the day the countdown starts, so I have a couple of little hints to show you.

Can you figure out what they are? How about some guesses? I don't think I'd have a clue if I didn't know, but happily for me, I do!! Ha! Ha!

Now you just have to wait a few more days. I'm so excited I think I'm gonna bust!!

Back with some more peeks later,

Blessings to you all,

Diana

Saturday, September 26, 2009

Well, it's a dull and miserable day here in Southwestern Ontario, but it gave me an excuse to stay indoors and make a card to post. I haven't been on here for several days as it's been a very busy week. Our new baby granddaughter arrived last week and she is so beautiful! No, she really is!!

Also, I am working on some 'stuff' for my dear daughter Kimmie's opening of her new business on October 5th. I'm so excited, I can't wait. If you check back on here later this week, you might just find a snippet or two that will show you a little bit of the great things Kim is going to have for you on the 5th.

Now, to the card. I used Jolie's Friend by Stampin' Up. I love this image and I wanted to use it again while it's still kind of almost still summer. Before long, we'll be stamping snowmen and snowflakes and while I love doing that, I would rather it stayed summer all year. Anyway, I used matching patterned papers by Daisy D. I embossed a piece of Pale Plum cardstock with my Paisley EF. I coloured Jolie in using my trusty S.U. Markers, sponged around the image with Pale Plum, matted her on Sage Shadow. The card base is Sage Shadow, under Pale Plum. I used my smallest pinking nesties to set the sentiment on. I love using the small Nesties to frame some of the shorter sentiments. The Hello... is from my Happy Hedgehogs set by Stampin' Up. I finished up with some Sage GG Ribbon and some Dew Drops in the corner.

That's it, hope you all have a blessed Sunday.

Pee-ooo!

I have had this image on my desk for a long time and I just love it, but was too lazy to do all that colouring. Well, I finally gave in, especially as I have a friend that it will be perfect for. No, they aren't smelly, they just love animals and live out in the country in the most perfect spot you could ever want to be.

Anyway, as you can see, Tink is causing a bit of squishing up at the other end of the log, but seems to be totally unaware.

I stamped the image with Versafine Black Onyx and coloured with my trusty S.U. markers. I'd love to get into the Copics, but I think they are way out of my budget. I used Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Creamy Caramel, added a High Hopes sentiment to go with the High Hopes image, added a couple of flowers and that's it.

Now I also have some very exciting news to tell you. My darling daughter Kim Reid of Kraftin' Kimmie's Korner is starting her own business, with her very own line of stamps!! I'm thrilled to be on her design team of Krafty Girls with some other fantastic stampers! It's so exciting to be helping her to make her dream come true! Hop on over to her blog and congratulate Kimmie!!

Heidi and Madison

Well, it's been a very busy week, some of it not a good kind of busy unfortunately, but today has been an uneventful Sunday. We went to church and then watched our son finish the Terry Fox Run, it was a beautiful sunny day for it, so that was nice.

Okay, I finally found some time to make a card. I have been making a few sympathy cards lately, so I wanted to make a nice cheery one this time. I used Heidi and Madison by High Hopes. This image was created by Crissy Armstrong and all her images are my very favourites. I picked out a couple of matching papers that I love the colours in and went with those. I used my square nesties for the main image and used Sage Shadow (which I rarely use) for the base and Regal Rose for the scalloped square, also some Certainly Celery to mat the other rectangle. I added some GG ribbon and a couple of hydrangea Primas with pink half pearls in the centres.

Oh, and I also did some stitching around the edges.

Hope you have a blessed day

Silver Sympathy

Well, Happy Labour Day everyone, hope you are all having a great day. The weather here is nice and warm in South West Ontario and my hubby and son have gone off golfing, which leaves me with some 'me' time.

This is not my favourite kind of card to make, but I think most of us feel that way. Still, we hope to bless the people we send them to, in some small way.

I had to change plans on this card as I was going to use an embossing folder on the white cardstock behind the main image, but once again I forgot that the folders are not big enough to use on a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card. That's why I decided to put the butterflies on instead. It's not quite the look I was planning for, but I quite like it. I used Stampin' Up's Lovely As A Tree and the butterfly was one from my collection of Magnolia stamps.

Well, this is my second post on my new blog and the first one I've done without my daughter here to instruct me, so I hope I'm doing it right!!

Hop Day at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!!
