Back for a Few Minutes!

Well, Hi and Good Evening to all of you.  I have been missing for several weeks now and boy, have I missed my crafting and blogging.  This will just be a brief one and I may be missing again for a while yet.

My hubby and I have been working very hard on renovating our house ready to sell and also packing and throwing out and giving away etc.  We are still far from done and don't yet have our house sold, so we are struggling on.  However, some dear friends of ours have just become grandparents to a beautiful pair of identical twin girls.  As I could not find a card that is even close to what I want, I took some time out to create this one.  It's pretty simple, but I think it will work.  I used a very old High Hopes stamp for the babies and I think it's a High Hopes sentiment too.

I am really dying to get back to creating with my DD's Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  I have been MIA for way too long and there are some fabulous new stamps which I haven't had time to even get inky yet.  I hope to be back for good soon.

Blessings to you all,
Diana

KK Challenge 113! A Birthday Card!!

Well, Hi and Happy Saturday morning to you all.  As the title says, this week our Hottie Hostess, the Kraftin' Kimmie herself would like us all to make a birthday card!  Since it's her birthday week (her birthday was yesterday, the 3rd.), it's a perfect challenge as I was able to make a card just for her.  By the way, since it's her birthday, Kimmie is having a great sale to celebrate.  There are over a hundred of Kimmie's favourite stamps on sale and they are all either 41% off (can you guess how old she is?) or $4.10.  Awesome deals, but this sale is only on until Sunday night, so you'd better check it out!  We are also having some giveaways on our Facebook page, so pop on over and answer some fun questions for a chance to win some Kimmie rubber.

For my Kimmie card, I used Polly the Bar Wench, I just love her, she's so sassy!!  I coloured her with my trusty and beloved Copic markers and die cut her with some Nesties, then I sponged around the edges with some yellow chalk ink.  I cut out a piece of Night of Navy card stock using the outer edge of the same nestie, so it gives me a nice border around the image layer.  I used some lovely Bo Bunny 'Barefoot and Bliss' papers on my card and finished with some cute Prima flowers, a rhinestone swirl and the sentiment 'You're How Old?' from Kimmie's Sassy Sentiments.

So a big Happy Birthday to my darling daughter Kimmie and I hope you all have fun making a birthday card.  Don't forget, if you use a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp, you will have a chance to win Tabitha which is the stamp  Kimmie is using on her card.

Happy Stamping,
Diana

Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge 113. Hand made embellishments!!

Well, good Saturday morning, stampers!  Here we are with yet another Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge.  This week's hostess is our insanely talented Melanie and she would like us to use hand made embellishments.  This was a challenge indeed for me as I had trouble getting my head around the idea.  I decided to make some crocheted flowers to go on my card.  Fortunately I have quite a few colours of floss and cotton, so I was able to find some to match.  Actually it was fun as I hadn't made any for a while and I forgot how quickly they can be whipped up.  Also it's a nice change from prima or paper flowers.  I used the super cute Lulu in the Tub, using of course, my trusty Copics.  I used a little Stickles on the bubbles and I sponged around the image layer while it was still in the square Nesties die.  I then framed it using my Lacy Square Nesties.  The frame and all the matting are Kiwi Kiss.  The card base is Vanilla and so is the taffeta ribbon.  The patterned papers are Ooh La La, from My Minds Eye.

So that's your challenge for this week, use some hand made embellies.  I'm sure you will come up with much more original ideas than I have.  The stamp you will be in the running to win is the little Kitty being scratched by a hand from Kitty Kapers 1.  Just be sure to link up your creation to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog.

Happy Stamping,
Diana

All the new images are now available at the Art du Scrapbooking store online and in person or from the KKS online shop, where you will find ALL our stamps!  Get ready....get set.....HOP!!

For my creation, I used the adorable Lulu in Tutu.  This is part of a set of 3 Lulu stamps, which are all such fun.  I coloured Lulu with my trusty Copics and framed the image layer using some long retired Blue Bayou from Stampin' Up.  The card base is Old Olive and the check background is matted onto some Early Espresso.  All the patterned papers are from the Art du Scrapbooking Store, as are the yummy green ribbon and all the other embellishments.  I love the 2 different sized flowers with the gem centres and it's so handy that they come in the 2 sizes.  There is a row of pearls along the bottom of the blue patterned paper and I used a couple of lovely shiny blue 'pearls' on either side of the sentiment 'You're Tutu Sweet', which comes with the set of Lulu stamps along with several other cute sentiments.

So, if you have come here from the blog of Isabelle, you are where you should be and from here you will go to the blog of France! Happy Hopping and don't forget to leave a comment at each and every stop for more chances to win prizes!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge 112 - Just Use Part of An Image!

Well, hi there again stampin' peeps.  It's Saturday once again and you know what that means!  Yep, another challenge from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  As the title says, the wonderful and talented Elaine would like us to spotlight or just use part of an image.  Well, I had not yet inked up the adorable miss Caroline, if you can believe it!!  She is of course one of the fabulous images from our own Annie Rodrigue.  Also, it just so happens that I just got the news that the daughter of a very dear friend is expecting and it's a wonderful surprise for them and a testament to God's faithfulness.  I was so delighted for her that I just had to make a card to send.  I hope she likes it.  I realize that I did use most of the image, but I absolutely had to get that beautiful baby bump in.

I used a card base of Certainly Celery and a background of Marigold Morning, which has long been retired, but I just love it and I don't know what I'll do when it's all gone.  I used a scrap of Baja Breeze for the sentiment.  The patterned papers are Nana's Nursery Baby Boy.  Now we have no idea if it's a boy or a girl, but I felt that these colours were fine for either. I sponged around all the edges with some Aloe Vera chalk ink and then some Creamy Caramel on the outer edges.  I cut out Caroline with my Labels Fourteen Nesties, then I drew around the outside of the die and cut out a frame in Marigold Morning.  I used a length of Baja Breeze Seam Binding behind the left side of the image layer, then I used some Prima Flowers with a green gemstone brad in the centre.  I added some matching half pearls on the sentiment layer and on the flowery paper.

So have fun with this challenge and since our hostess Elaine is using Roxy on her card, that is the stamp some lucky lady will win.  To see who is participating in this challenge, check out Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog.

Happy Stamping,
Diana

Well folks, I know I have been MIA for quite some time, at least it sure seems that way.  We all had almost 3 weeks off over Christmas and the New Year, but I have not been on here much as my husband and I are working on our house and it doesn't leave me much time for crafting.

However, I am so sorry to have missed playing with so many of the gorgeous new stamps, I will get to them as time allows.  I did manage to make a card for the hop and I have used the dancing kitty from Kitty Kapers 1.  Isn't he or she the cutest?  I had so much fun with this one.  I used some very cute Max and Whiskers paper from Basic Grey and of course took my colours for kitty from that.  The card base and all the matting is Early Espresso.  I added some dark brown grosgrain ribbon and a little orange button with some brown linen thread in it.

Now to the fun part, the hop!!  If you have come here from the blog of the fantastic 'new girl' Sharon, you are where you should be.  From here you will go to Pam's equally gorgeous blog.  Wow, what a pair to be sandwiched between, that's scary.  We sure have some truly amazing new DT members, their work is so exceptional.  We are so blessed to have them all join us.

Okay, so today I am using the Princess stamp from Lots of Love 1.  Isn't she just too cute?  She is just perfect for a Valentine card.  I had so much fun colouring her and also using my Die-namics Fancy Flourish die, which I must confess my dear daughter gave me a few months back and I haven't been able to remember to use it!!  I love it though and I'm sure I will remember it from now on.  I used some lovely S.U. Raspberry Tart DP and took my colours from there.  My cardstocks are Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose and Melon Mambo, which went perfectly with the papers.  I did some stitching using the Kiwi Kiss colour.  Lucky for me I had some thread that was a match.  I also had some lovely metallic pink dew drops, which were also a great match.

So I'm assuming you have come from the blog of the fabulous Beate and from here you go to the blog of our fantastic artist Annie, creator of our Moonlight Whispers.  Be sure to leave a comment at each of our blogs for more chances to win some of this new, awesome rubbah!!  Happy Hopping,
