Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge 52! Primarily Purple!!

Hello again all you stampers, I hope you are having a great weekend. It's getting pretty nippy here in S.W. Ontario, I don't know about anywhere else!! I love the fall, but I don't like the fact that winter is next to come.

Well, yesterday I had a great crafty day here at my house with a great bunch of ladies. The theme was Christmas cards and some lovely creations were made by all. I can't wait to do it again, hopefully really soon.

Anyway, now to my post for today. This is my Challenge card for this week and as the title says, we are to make a card that is primarily purple. This was a struggle for me as I really wanted to stay with the Christmas theme, but I have very little Christmassy paper with purples in it. So I worked with what I had. I then made it even more difficult for myself by choosing a Santa Claus stamp, which needed to have red in it for Santa's attire. Purple and red, not my first choice of combos. Anyway, I tried it and I'm not terribly unhappy with the colours.

I used a card base of Almost Amethyst, matted some Elegant Eggplant onto it and put my Bo Bunny paper on top of that. I put another strip of Bo Bunny across the front, matted onto Elegant Eggplant, onto which I had punched a border of Snowflakes with my M.S. border punch.

I coloured my 'Miles and Maisie Claus' image with copics and doodled a little frame around it. I matted it with Almost Amethyst, then pop dotted it onto the card. I punched out a couple of M.S. Snowflakes and put red pearls in the centre, some red ribbon across the strip and punched out my 'Merry Christmas' sentiment with my small oval punch and set that onto a piece of Elegant Eggplant punched out with a larger oval punch. That's it, Bob's your uncle and I'm finished.

Now we would like to see your 'Primarily Purple' creations. Have fun, can't wait to check out your work. Be sure to go to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog and link up your card there and also, do go and check out the other Krafty Girl's creations, they are gorgeous!!

Have a wonderful weekend,
Blessings,
Diana

Frosty the Snowmouse!!

Hi there, believe it or not, I have a card to post today. Wow, the day before I'll be posting a challenge card. I must be on a roll or something. Nah, that can't be it!!

This is one of the October Release stamps from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. Aren't they just the cutest? This is a simple card, I just used some of my cute DCWV Christmas Stack papers and zig zagged them onto the pink pirouette matting and the Gable Green card base. I used pink thread for this. I love stitching on my cards. After colouring my image with my copics, I cut it out using one of my Nesties Labels. Then I cut out a larger one of the same shape in pink pirouette and used it to border my image. I added some adorable glass snowflakes that I picked up at Jo Ann's when I was in the States and I added the sentiment, punched out with one of my Spellbinder's Labels Trio. Love those things, I'm always looking for a different way to display my sentiments.

Anyway, be sure to come back tomorrow and see what Challenge Kraftin' Kimmie has for you.

Have a great evening, or day, depending on when you read this!!

Blessings,
Diana

Sweet Virginia from Kraftin' Kimmie!

Well, I'm back again, would you believe? I am having so much fun with the new release of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. If I keep this up, I will soon have all my Christmas cards made.

I coloured Virginia with my Copics as usual and sponged the edges with some chalk ink. I rounded the corners on the image layer and also on the Cranberry Crisp border. (I love this colour and am using it very sparingly as it's retired). I used some cute dp, which once again I've forgotten the name of and matted all pieces onto C. Crisp. I took out my Real Red striped ribbon, which goes perfectly with the C. Crisp and tied it across the middle. I added a couple of Prima Poinsettias with some red gems in the centres, punched out 'Joy', (which comes with Virginia as well as a cute little stocking) with a circle punch, then set it on a slightly larger circle of C. Crisp. I finished off with some soft green gems in the corners. Whoops, I then set it all on a base of aqua coloured Cricut Rainbow cardstock.

Well, that's it for today, I hope to be back soon.

May God Bless You,
Diana

Noelle, from Kraftin' Kimmie's New Release!

Well, good day to all you stampers out there. I'm actually posting in the middle of the week, which doesn't happen too often. Today I'm showing 'Noelle', one of the Kraftin' Kimmie October Release Stamps. I had a lot of fun doing this card, Noelle is fun to colour and she is so cute. I also love the candy cane accessory stamp that she comes with. I used S.U. Not Quite Navy for the card base and I coloured Noelle using my Copic Markers and cut her out using my Blossom Nesties. Then I cut out a larger circle of Not Quite Navy using my Coluzzle. (Haven't used that for a while!). I put some red half pearls around the circle and used some DCWV Holiday Stack papers to pop dot the image layer onto. I used the yummy new Poppy Parade CS from S.U. for my borders, then coloured and cut out her little candy cane and placed it on the panel. I finished off with the sentiment, which also comes with Noelle.

Well, I hope to get some more stamping time in soon so that I can post another card. Wouldn't it be nice if we could stamp all day?!!

God Bless you all today,
Diana

I used Real Red for the base and I used some sort of aqua shade (by Provo Craft) for the matting onto the base and behind Miles. I don't remember what patterned papers I used as I made the card a while ago. I used some white Flower Soft on the cuff of the stocking, added a couple of snowflakes and Merry Christmas as the sentiment, from Kimmie's Holiday Sentiments.

Welcome Willard, a Sneaky Peak at the upcoming Kraftin' Kimmie Release!!

Well, good morning and I hope you are having a nice relaxing day. This is my first post for the Kraftin' Kimmie New Release, which goes live on Tuesday. Right now I'm doggysitting for Kimmie and family while they are gone to Scrapfest in Oshawa and tomorrow they are going to a Scrapping day in Mildmay. We all went to Mildmay last year and it was a great day.

Now to my card. This is one of the new winter images and his name is Willard, isn't he cute?

I used Poppy Red, a new colour which I love, Night of Navy for the card base and the sentiment, and some cute winter paper from my stash. The sentiment is actually from the Oliver image, which comes with 'Just Chillin''! Isn't Willard just precious? That confused look on his face.....like, I've got this yummy hot chocolate, but how the heck am I supposed to drink it?? Heehee!

There are lots more awesome samples featuring the new images today! Just hop on over to the challenge blog and see who's sharing! And then all these fabulous images will be available at the KKStamps Shop on Tuesday!

Have a wonderful day!

Graduation Card for Emileigh!! Also Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps are going to Scrapfest!!

This is a card I made for my darling granddaughter's Commencement. I used the verse from 'Measure of A Life', a Stampin' Up set. I thought it was perfect for such an occasion and different from the 'Grad' cards. Unfortunately I have forgotten what DP, I used. My daughter and I buy papers and split them and I sometimes don't get the front page with the name on it. I put the image on some Very Vanilla and punched it out with my Nesties Labels Four. I punched out the next size up using Chocolate Chip. I used Wild Wasabi behind the yellow strip, and punched out a border along the bottom. I matted it all on Wild Wasabi and used Chocolate Chip for the base. Then I added 3 sizes of brown half pearls along the bottom right and top left.

Now for what we Krafty Girls and even more so, Miss Kimmie are really excited about. This coming weekend is Scrapfest in Oshawa and Kimmie and her stamps will be there, along with several of the Krafty Girls. I won't be there as I am doggy sitting little Miss Daisy for the weekend. However, I get to go up to Kimmie's tomorrow and spend the rest of the week helping her get everything ready. Maybe next time I will be there, I would love to as I've never been to Scrapfest.

If you would like to find out more details about Kraftin' Kimmie and Scrapfest, just go here and you will find out all about it.

Have a wonderful day,
Blessings,
Diana

Wow, this is an exciting time to be a Krafty Girl!! Aside from the sale, we are having the Krafty Hop. I can't wait to see what creations the other girls and the Guest Designers have made.

First though, I have to say how very proud Kimmie's Dad and I are of her and what she has done in the last year, and way before that. When she told me about her plans to start her own company, I just knew that as long as the economy permitted it, she would succeed. She didn't tell her Dad for a while as she was afraid he would not approve, so I was sworn to secrecy. He was actually so impressed and proud of her too as we both knew that she was equal to the task. She has exceeded even her own expectations and we could not be happier for her. For the better part of the past year, she not only ran and worked the company, but she was working at the local library too, until she couldn't continue to do both. Kimmie has worked very hard and long to accomplish what she has and we are so proud to call her our daughter. I also have to add that her husband Al has been a great support for her, mailing packages and going on long trips to get supplies, building lots of new shelves etc. Also, our darling granddaughter Emileigh, who has worked alongside Mom when she hasn't been in school. Congratulations Kimmie, you deserve it and we love you!!

Okay, if you have landed here from our wonderful Krafty Krista's Blog, you are in the right place. If you didn't start at Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog, you might want to go back there so that you can leave a comment on each blog to increase your chances of winning.

This week's challenge is to do a Celebration card. It can be birthday, wedding, anniversary or whatever you like as long as it's for a celebration of some kind. I chose to use Birthday Cake Overdose, which is one of the latest release of stamps. I actually made it for my son-in-law's birthday and it's not for a week or so yet, so shhhh, don't tell him!

The card I made could easily be used for a child, but since my SIL is just a big kid at heart, I think he'll be fine with it. I hope so anyway. I coloured Miles with my Copics as always, punched him out with my Nesties Labels 8, then I coloured all around him while he was still in the die, with a pale yellow. I cut the next size up in my Nesties, using Gable Green to frame the image layer. I pop dotted it onto some dollar store papers, which I thought were cute. I punched out another die cut in red with the Labels 8, stamped Birthday Wishes on one end, then cut the piece off and glued it beneath the GG frame. The pretty papers are matted onto some Elegant Eggplant, then onto the card base of G. Green. I added some buttons to match the papers, threaded some linen thread through them, then opened out some raffia style papers and tied them across the card, under the image.

Now, your next step is to go on to the fabulous Melanie's Blog, Paper Blessings. What I wouldn't give to have that girl's talent. She is amazing and a super nice person as well.

When you are finished hopping and commenting, it's time for you to make yourself a nice cup of tea or coffee and take some time to make your own celebration card. Be sure to link it up to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog. Happy Hopping, girls!!

Blessings,
Diana
