Fall Colours!

Hi everyone, hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend.  We Krafty Girls have been having fun making cards in fall colours.  This week's challenge comes from our own lovely Kim O'Connell.  I love fall, but it's hard to believe that summer is over and in fact the first day of fall was yesterday.  Wow, where has that summer gone?  It's really true, the older you get, the faster the time goes by.

I have used the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz collection by Annie Rodrigue.  Isn't he just so cute and sassy?  It was so much fun colouring him to match my fall papers.  The card stocks I used are Always Artichoke from S.U., which believe it or not is current.  I seem to use a lot of retired colours, which is what the other colour is, it's Morning Marigold, which I love.  I wish they would bring it back before I run out of it.  As you can see, my card is very simple, but I seem to like them that way.  I used a border of A. Artichoke and used a border punch, which I can't remember the name of, but it's a Fiskars punch.  I put a strip of shiny copper coloured rick rack across the centre.  It doesn't show up in the photo, but it really is very shiny and matches the copper brads I used on the sentiment layer, but they don't show up either.  I used Labels 6 Nesties for the image and then I drew around the die to make a frame in A. Artichoke, which is slightly larger than the image layer.  I cut it out and it makes a great frame.  I also used a smaller Labels 6 Nestie for the sentiment, which comes from Kimmie's Thankful Sentiments.  I added a cute little pumpkin embellie and that's it.

Be sure to hop on over to Kraftin' Kimmie's Shop to see the Frugal Friday Specials which will be on sale till Sunday night.  They are all 40-50% off.  This week's goodies are Tara, Toymaker Elf, Angie, Henri, Moaning Moira and Wendy.

So now your mission (ha ha!) is to make a fall card for us all to see.  Be sure to link it up to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog for a chance to win the adorable Lulu and her Bear, which is the stamp Kim used.

Happy Stamping,
Diana
