Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge 112 - Just Use Part of An Image!

Well, hi there again stampin' peeps.  It's Saturday once again and you know what that means!  Yep, another challenge from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  As the title says, the wonderful and talented Elaine would like us to spotlight or just use part of an image.  Well, I had not yet inked up the adorable miss Caroline, if you can believe it!!  She is of course one of the fabulous images from our own Annie Rodrigue.  Also, it just so happens that I just got the news that the daughter of a very dear friend is expecting and it's a wonderful surprise for them and a testament to God's faithfulness.  I was so delighted for her that I just had to make a card to send.  I hope she likes it.  I realize that I did use most of the image, but I absolutely had to get that beautiful baby bump in.

I used a card base of Certainly Celery and a background of Marigold Morning, which has long been retired, but I just love it and I don't know what I'll do when it's all gone.  I used a scrap of Baja Breeze for the sentiment.  The patterned papers are Nana's Nursery Baby Boy.  Now we have no idea if it's a boy or a girl, but I felt that these colours were fine for either. I sponged around all the edges with some Aloe Vera chalk ink and then some Creamy Caramel on the outer edges.  I cut out Caroline with my Labels Fourteen Nesties, then I drew around the outside of the die and cut out a frame in Marigold Morning.  I used a length of Baja Breeze Seam Binding behind the left side of the image layer, then I used some Prima Flowers with a green gemstone brad in the centre.  I added some matching half pearls on the sentiment layer and on the flowery paper.

So have fun with this challenge and since our hostess Elaine is using Roxy on her card, that is the stamp some lucky lady will win.  To see who is participating in this challenge, check out Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog.

Happy Stamping,
Diana

  1. Hi Hiana, what a good idea to cut down the image a little. I sometimes have a hard time getting an image to fit into a nestability I want to use and this looks just great. Sweet image too! Hugs, Frea
