50th. Wedding Anniversary Card

Well, hello good stampers, I do hope that you are having a good weekend. If you don't manage to get some creating in this weekend, I hope it's because you are doing something fun!

Today I'm posting a card that I made a couple of days ago for some good friends who are celebrating their 50th. Wedding Anniversary this weekend. I wanted to do something special for them and I hope they will like it. I used Stampendous' Seth and Sarabeth as my image, I think it's a great stamp to use for Anniversaries. I coloured with my Copics, as always, then sponged around them with my Versa Magic 'Aloe Vera' chalk ink, it was the perfect shade for my papers, which are ' Origins' by Basic Grey. I love these papers and I'm heartbroken as I've now used up all of the dark brown one which I used for the main background!! I guess I have to get some more!! I used my circle and Pinking Nesties to frame the image, then pop dotted it onto the different pieces of the papers, bordering one with YoYo Yellow, which I also used for the Pinking piece and also to mat the main papers. I used Wild Wasabi for the other piece of paper and also for the card base. I used the same W. Wasabi for the sentiment, which is from Kraftin' Kimmies Everyday Sentiments . I cut out the 50 from my Cuttlebug Dies, (I love those things) and finished off with some cute Prima flowers and some Maize ribbon, which matches the YoYo yellow perfectly. Now I have to find the perfect verse to go inside.

Well, that's it for me, back to work. I'd much rather be stamping!!

Blessings to you all,
Diana

Hydrangea Sympathy

Good morning everyone, I do hope you are having a good day. Right now, my dear daughter, Kraftin' Kimmie should have landed in Chicago along with our design teams' Andrea and they will be meeting up with Jeanne Streiff, another Krafty Girl from Texas. They are going to CHA. It will be the first time for Kimmie and Andrea to meet Jeanne in person, although they do a whole lot of chatting online. Kim was so excited, I hope they all have a great time, I'm sure they will.

Well, this morning, I am posting a card I made yesterday to send to my Uncle in England as my dear Aunt passed away last week. These are sure not my favourite cards to make, I'd much rather be playing with my Kraftin' Kimmie stamps. I have lost two aunts and an uncle in the last couple of months, so I hope the trend stops for quite a while.

For this card, I used the Hydrangea stamp from Stampin' Ups' Flower Garden. I coloured it with my Copics to match the Almost Amethyst cardstock I wanted to use. I cut the image out with one of my Labels Four Nestabilities, then cut one size larger in Almost Amethyst. I then cut out a border along each side of a piece of cardstock. (I planned to use some lovely twill ribbon Kimmie had given me, but I could not find it. It's in this room somewhere, grrrr!) I placed the border piece across the front, behind the image layer, added the sentiment and then some Prima Hydrangea flowers. I matted this all onto some more A. Amethyst, then onto the card base of Whisper White. The toughest part of all this was writing the inside.

Well, I hope you all have a great day and happy stamping.

Blessings,
Diana

Arianna, just because!

Well, it's Thursday today and I don't often post at this time of the week, but I am just loving the Mermaids by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and also I wanted to try out my From the Sea Spellbinders. I just love this little seahorse and he looks even cuter in real life. I used some very cute Imaginisce papers, aren't they perfect with all the fish and seaweed etc? As usual, I coloured Arianna with my Copics and then I cut them out with one of my Nesties. I also coloured the little fish, which came in the Mermaid Kit, I'm not sure which of the Mermaids it comes with. I cut it out and set it at the top left of the image layer. I set the adorable seahorse at the right and put some ribbon across the bottom, then I added the sentiment on some Apricot Appeal. The other cardstock colours I used are Regal Rose and Baja Breeze.

This is just a quickie as I'm not going to be around for the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge this week, but be sure to check into Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog on Saturday so that you can join in this weeks' challenge.

Happy Stamping,
Diana

Preview #3 and Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #38. Bows!!

Well, Hello and Happy Saturday morning to all you wonderful stampers out there.

Today, I get to show you my effort with 'Bikini Maisie', one of the adorable stamps from this release, created by Kimmie's new artist, Steven Leary. All Kimmie's team love his drawings, they are simple, yet they have character too and are really funny.

This week's Challenge is to put bows on your card. It can be a ribbon bow, bows in your paper or on your image, whatever you like as long as you use bows. I used my Copics to colour Maisie, then sponged around her with some chalk inks. I cut her out with my rectangular Nesties, then made a frame with my Scalloped Nesties. I used Groovy Guava for the frame. I pop dotted it onto some very cute Imaginisce papers, which I bought especially for these guys and the mermaid stamps. I put a strip of the striped one down the left side, tied some Groovy Guava ribbon across the bottom and made a bow. I added a couple of matching fishy brads and that's it. A fairly simple card, but I think Maisie is looking pretty snappy all by herself.

So there you have it. Now go and make something to show us with bows (or a bow) on it and you will entered for a chance to win the lovely Snow White stamp as that's the one our hostess Krista is using and she is the hostess for this week. Check out her card, it's just fabulous and so are all the other girls' creations.

I will be back again tomorrow in the Blog Hop, so be sure to come back, it's July Release Day too, so be sure to visit Kraftin' Kimmies' Stamps Shop as everything will be up on the site ready for you to get your inky little mitts on!

See you tomorrow,

Blessings,
Diana

Kraftin' Kimmie July Preview Two!

Well, I said I'd be back again, didn't I? Today I am using the soon to be released Rapunzel. I already forgot what papers I used, in fact I made this card at my daughter Kraftin' Kimmies and as usual I scrounged her papers. I do know that I made the card base from Bashful Blue and matted Rapunzel on some Pale Plum. I added some gems and some lovely little prima flowers, also some of Kimmie's beautiful pale blue ribbon.

Okay, I will be back again tomorrow with another card, this time I will be using a stamp illustrated by Kimmie's newest artist Steven Leary. I love his cute and funny stuff.

Now don't forget that on Sunday, you will be able to purchase all the new stamps at Kraftin' Kimmie's Shop! And you will also be able to join in our blog hop and get a chance at winning some of the new stamps. Tomorrow is our Challenge #38 and you can make your creation and perhaps win the brand new stamp that our hostess is using. I don' t even know what it is yet.

Make sure you check out the blogs of all the other Krafty Girls (listed in my sidebar). They have fabulous designs for you to see.

Hope you have a wonderful day,

Blessings,
Diana

July Release Preview, Little Red Riding Hood!

Good morning stampers! Well, it's finally time for some Krafty Kimmie Peeks for the July Release. We will all be posting cards using the awesome new stamps between now and Sunday, when they are all released. We have some wonderful new creations from Annie Rodrigue and Steven Leary.

For my first card, I used Red Riding Hood. I punched her out using my Oval Scalloped Nesties, then coloured her with my Copics, what else?! I sponged around her with some chalk ink. I used some Bittersweet papers for the background, putting a strip of the brown hearts across the bottom. I used some Pink Pirouette to mat it onto and punched a border along the bottom with one of my M.S. Border Punches. I used the sentiment 'Ever Had One of Those Days' from Kraftin' Kimmie's Sassy Sentiments, but the stamp comes with 'Oops, I Forgot Your Birthday'.
I finished the card with a pearly swirl and that's it.

Be sure to check in with all the other Krafty Girls and see what awesome creations they have come up with. I'll be back with another preview card tomorrow.

Blessings,
Diana

All the Pinks!

Hello again, I hope you are having a great weekend. Here in S.W. Ontario we are having a welcome cool down after a 4 or 5 day heatwave. It has been just dreadful, so we are thankful to be rid of the high heat and humidity. I think for the last couple of days, the high was 34C and with the Humidex factored in, it was like 44C. That is just horrid.

Anyway, now to this weeks' Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge. Our hostess this week is the Amazing Andrea, who wants us to use lots of pink on our cards. I used the Tree Fairy for my card, colouring her with my Copics of course. I can't remember the name of the patterned papers I used as I made this card while I was staying with my DD, Kraftin' Kimmie and I used some from her stash. I cut out the Fairy using some Labels Nesties, then cut out a larger piece in Going Gray and set the image on that. I used a square piece of the pretty flowery paper behind it, matted it on some more Going Gray and then put a strip of the other side of the patterned paper along the lower half, with a Pink Pirouette border behind it. Then I put a piece of Kimmie's yummy pink satin ribbon across and tied it. I put a few flowers in the top corner, then stamped the sentiment from Kimmie's Fairy Sentiments on a strip of P. Pirouette.

That's it, now it's your turn. If you create a card using one of Kraftin' Kimmie's stamps, you will be in for the random draw to win Nerissa, which is the stamp Andrea is using on her card. Be sure to go over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge Blog and see all the pink creations from all the Krafty Girls.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Diana

Presenting Princess Petunia and Sketch Challenge!

Good morning peeps,

Here we are once again with a Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge. This week our krafty hostess is the Divine Donna and she has given us a lovely sketch to follow. It's a great one and you will find the actual sketch over at Krafty Kimmie's Challenge Blog. I had fun with this one.

For my card, I used Princess Petunia. As usual, I coloured her with my Copics, then I cut her out using my Nesties and sponged around her while she was still in the frame. I used some Sandylion patterned papers and ran some yummy organdy ribbon across the card. I put a group of yellow flowers in the top right corners and punched out some leaves to go behind them, in Certainly Celery. The card base is Barely Banana and the border behind the main patterned paper is Baja Breeze. I added the sentiment on some Baja Breeze and there you have it.

Now you can go to Kimmie's Challenge Blog and see what all the other Krafty Girls have done for you to see. Then be sure to take some time to enter this challenge and as usual, the randomly chosen winner will receive Mae, which Donna has used on her card.

Hope you all have a great weekend,
Blessings,
Diana
