Card for Auntie Vi

Well, Hi and Happy Monday everyone! I didn't post this card for the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #35 as I felt it wasn't creative enough. The challenge was Creative Cuts and it could be anything but a square. Well, it's not a square and it is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, so it is large and I thought it was alright, but then when I looked at all the other Krafty Girls beautiful creations, I decided it would not do and I asked my boss/daughter Kimmie if she would please let me off this week. She kindly did and that's why I'm posting it now.

Actually, it was to be a 2 fer 1 idea as I thought this would be ideal to send to my dear Auntie in England whose vision is not so good any more. If I make it big enough, she can see it. I used a Very Vanilla card base and stitched some vanilla thread around some So So Sweet dp with a strip of Barely Banana, which I embossed with one of my EFs. I coloured in Giselle with my Copics and I even coloured her hair grey to match my dear Auntie Petunia, as I call her. (Her real name is Violet) I cut her out using my Labels 11 Nesties, then cut another one the same size in some more of the So So Sweet papers. I added some sweet Primas and Brads, some lovely gauzy mauve ribbon, to which I added a butterfly charm. Then I cut apart the sentiment and set it on the smallest Labels 11 Nestie in Barely Banana. I think that's it. The sentiment is perfect for her as she loves her cup of tea. You will find it in the Tea Sentiments at Kraftin' Kimmie's Shop.

Hope you have a great week and that you find some time just for you to stamp.

Blessings,
Diana

Father's Day Surfing Miles

Hi there, I'm actually posting in the week again. I made a Father's Day card for my hubby and I decided to use Surfing Miles because he's so cute and I love playing with these guys. (It does say 'Happy Father's Day' on the inside). This time I decided to be really crazy and I coloured Miles mauve. I was getting a bit tired of browns and greys and besides, lots of the cartoon characters you see on TV are weird colours. Besides, then he matched the papers!! That's my excuse anyway.

Once again I used my 'A Day at the Beach' patterned papers, which I'm using as much as I can as summer will soon be over, then I'll have to put them away again. I used the sentiment 'Make a Splash' from the Mermaid Sentiments, which come with the Mermaid Kit, which is now on sale at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps for 20% off the regular price. A great deal, I might add. I punched out the sentiment layer using my Double Ended Tags Nesties, which worked perfectly. I attached it using matching purple brads. It's a simple card, but that's what's great about these Miles images. You can make an A2 size simple card with them, or you can gussy them up on a 6 x 6 and use more embellies etc.

Well, that's it for me for today, lots of non-crafty stuff to do around the house, yuck!!

Have a blessed day,
Diana

Sandcastle Miles in Blue, Yellow and Tan!

Hi everyone, it's Saturday again and time for yet another Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge. This week our hostess with the mostest is Jeanne and she wants us to use Summer Colours of blue, yellow and tan. I had a bit of a struggle with this to begin with, but by the time I had finished, I wished I had time to make some more cards with this colour combo, just to see what different styles and shades and layouts I could come up with. Oh, life does get in the way of our crafting sometimes, doesn't it? My husband and I are retired, but there just aren't enough hours in the day. Now if I just didn't have to clean house and cook etc., I could probably get a lot more done. Okay, now there I go, daydreaming again. Back to the matter at hand.

I used Sandcastle Miles for this card as I hadn't yet found time to ink him up, he was the only one left, poor little fella, out of the new Kraftin' Kimmie Release. To be honest, I can't even say I used him because of the sand in the picture and that it would work with the tan I needed to use. I'm not that clever!! I used some more of my 'A Day at the Beach' papers, which I am just loving. This lovely yellow paper has suns all over it, so it was perfect. I paired it with a piece of Martha Stewart Brights Pad as it has mostly yellow and blue dots on it. I coloured in Miles and then used my rectangular and scalloped Nesties to mat him onto. I then popped him up on the dotted paper, which I had matted onto some Creamy Caramel, which I had used my 'drippy goo' border punch on. I set that on the yellow sunny paper, matted it onto Baja Breeze, then onto a card base of Creamy Caramel. I tied some Caramel gingham ribbon across the bottom, attaching a shell charm to it. I finished it off with a Beachy Sentiment, 'Sandy Wishes'.

Now it's your turn to make a card using blue, yellow and tan. Be sure to stop over at Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog to see what the other girls have created. Their work is fabulous!! Don't forget that the randomly picked winner will win Tubing Miles as that's the stamp Jeanne has used on her card. If you upload your cards to a website like Splitcoast, be sure to put KKSC34 in your keywords so that we can find you there.

So have a great weekend and try to find some time to create. You know you wanna!!

Blessings,
Diana

Cute Card Thursday!

Good morning everyone! I am actually posting on Thursday of this week. I wish I could post every day, but unfortunately I don't have time to make that many cards on a regular basis.

It just happens that this week, Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is sponsoring the Cute Card Sketch over at Cute Card Thursday. If you enter, you can win some Kraftin' Kimmie stamps.

For my card, I used Nerissa from the June Release over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I hadn't inked up this mermaid yet, so it was great to have an excuse to use her. I think she is so adorable, she is fun to colour. I coloured her using my Copics of course, then matted her on some Regal Rose. I used my 'A Day at the Beach' patterned papers, I'm using them a lot right now as they are so perfect for the mermaids and also for Miles the Mouse, who was also released along with the mermaids. The sketch was so great to use, I matted the two horizontal strips on Regal Rose and the vertical wide piece on Pumpkin Pie. I set all that on some blue patterned paper, then matted it on some more Pumpkin Pie, then onto a card base of Baja Blue. I added one of the sentiments from the Kraftin' Kimmie Mermaid Sentiments, then added some yummy Prima Caboodles. Oh, and I also put some Stardust Stickles on her tail.

So that's it, I would like to find time for more of these sketch challenges, they are great fun.

See you again soon,

Blessings,
Diana

Hooray, it's June Release Day and Krafty Hop!!

Whoopee, it's finally here!! It's June Release Day, therefore time to debut the beautiful Mermaids and Miles the Mouse. As you've probably already 'heard' me or one of the other girls say, we have 6 gorgeous Mermaids, 6 accessory stamps (even a few extra bonus stamps) and a fantastic Kimmie's Beachy Sentiment Set with over 20 sentiments in it. This mermaid kit is only available from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and only for a limited time. However, Kimmie is selling the kit for 20% off the regular price. These images were all designed by our wonderfully talented Annie Rodrigue. I think her creations keep getting better all the time!!

The Miles the Mouse line was created by our new artist Steven Leary. We are just so excited to have him join us at Kraftin' Kimmie's. It amazes me how much humour he manages to put into these simple cartoon type images. I just love them.

For my blog hop card, I used Surfboard Miles, isn't he adorable? I coloured him with my Copics, of course. I cut him out using my Nesties, then I cut the next size from Tangerine Tango. I pop dotted the whole layer onto some summer type DP, then matted them onto Taken with Teal. I put some teal buttons on, then some Tangerine Tango ribbon and I tied a starfish charm on the knot with some linen thread. I punched out the sentiment with my small oval punch and that's it.

Now to the blog hop. If you want to start from the beginning, go to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog. If you have already done that and you have landed here from Donna's Blog, you are in the right place. Be sure to leave a comment on each of our blogs as some lucky stampers are going to win packages of stamps from the New Release, so the more comments you leave, the better your chances. We have some fabulous guests for this months' Hop too, we even have both of our fabulous artists joining in with us. Oh, did I mention that for the first whole week of this release, every order will have a bonus package of accessory stamps? I know that's true because I helped Kimmie package them up.

Okay, you've put up with me long enough, I'll put you out of your misery, your next stop on the Hop is Annie Rodrigue, the super talented creator of the Moonlight Whispers line.

Happy Hopping,
Diana

Kraftin' Kimmie Peek, Day 4 and Challenge 33!!

Wow, there is so much going on right now with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps that I have a hard time keeping it all straight. This is day 4 of the Krafty Peeks, so today I have used Arianna. This is one of my favourites as I love Sea Horses, they are so beautiful. I coloured her with my Copics as usual and used some Destination Paradise papers from Me and My Big Ideas. It's a simple layout, but I wanted to be able to see some of the picture on the blue layer. I added the lovely sea horse charm and used the sentiment 'Waving Hello', which is in the Mermaid Sentiments. There are lots of other great sentiments such as 'Eat My Bubbles' , 'Fish You Were Here' and 'Dropping You A Line'. I can't wait to use them all.

Now for this weeks' challenge. Our leader Kraftin' Kimmie is the hostess this week and the theme is --- Beachy Keen! Summer or Water Themed Creations. Well, she gave us Krafty Girls a break, didn't she as we have all these awesome stamps to work with. I'm sure though that you can create some summery or beachy creations and if you are the random winner, you will receive your choice of either Cordelia or Tubing Miles as Kimmie is using both. So then you will have your own water or beachy themed stamp.

So now go and check out all the other creations on the rest of the Krafty Girls' Blogs, that's if you haven't already. Also, be sure and come back tomorrow for our fabulous Krafty Hop. We will have some wonderful guests artists joining in the hop along with our own Krafty Girls. If you leave a comment on each and every stop, you will have more chances to win some awesome rubber from the New Release!!

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend,

Blessings,
Diana

Day 3 of Kraftin' Kimmie's Krafty Peeks!

Okay, it's day 3 of the Kraftin' Kimmie Previews. Said I'd be back, didn't I? This cute little fella is Tubing Miles, another of the images from Kimmie's new artist, Steven Leary. Only 2 more days and all these awesome new stamps will be available at Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamp Shop.

I made this card A2 size, which is a nice change. These stamps are smaller than our usual ones, so they work well on this size card base. I coloured Miles with my Copics, then cut him out, which was so easy because of the simple lines. I pop dotted him onto some purple 'A Day at the Beach' papers by The Paper Studio, which I had cut out using one of my Blossom Nesties. I used some more of the same papers to set that layer on, I love this one because it has sea horses on. I put a strip of some more of the DP along the bottom, matting it on some Summer Sun cardstock. Then I added a charm, tied with some linen thread and layered everything on some retired Eggplant Envy, then the card base of Baja Breeze.

Make sure you come back tomorrow to see what else I have for you and also remember to go and check out the awesome creations of the other Krafty Girls. It's also Challenge day, so come and see what challenge our fearless leader Kimmie has come up with.

See you tomorrow,
Diana

Day #2 of Krafty Peeks. Meet Aurora!!

Okay, so it's Thursday and I'm back again as promised, with another Krafty Peek. This is Aurora, one of the fabulous mermaids from the new release. Isn't she just lovely? As I mentioned yesterday, there are 6 of them and they all come with an accessory stamp. They are so much fun to colour. Only 3 more days and they will all be available from Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamp Shop as a kit for a limited time and to make the deal even sweeter, Kimmie will be selling the kits for 20% off the regular price.

I coloured Aurora with my Copics as always, on Neenah cardstock. I added some Orange Peel Stickles to her tail, although you can't see that in the picture. I also added some Stardust Stickles to the stars in her hair. I cut out the image with one of my Labels 10 Nesties, then pop dotted it onto an assortment of A Day at the Beach papers by Paper Studio. I used some Summer Sun cardstock for the base, added some flowers and a shell charm, then stamped 'Something's Fishy' from the Mermaid Sentiment Set and put it at the bottom right, after punching it out with my trusty Window Punch.

Now don't forget to check out all the other Krafty Girls' creations, either by clicking on their names from my sidebar, or you can go there from Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog. Also be sure to come back tomorrow for more Krafty Peeks.

See you then,
Blessings,
Diana

Triangle Challenge! #32 and Bartholomew the Bard.

Hi everyone and I hope you are having a great Saturday. It's time again for the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge, it's week 32, if you can believe it. This week, it's my turn to host it and I decided I would like us to all use triangles on our cards. Any kind of triangle you like, be it obtuse, equilateral, scalene acute, isosceles, or whatever. (Who said I didn't learn anything in Geometry class). You can make your own triangles with your papers like I did, or use whatever you like as long as you have triangles on your card. For inspiration, make sure you check out Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog and see what the Krafty Girls have done.

Now to the card. I used some DCWV Natural Stack with foil, I just love it, all earthy tones with some shiny copper foil in it. I used Chocolate Chip for the card base and put a square of More Mustard on it, then I made triangles of the patterned paper, cutting them to fit nicely on the square. I took my colours from the papers and coloured Bartholomew the Bard with greys, browns and mustard shades from my Copics. (One was the one you gave me, Andrea, so thank you again!) I cut him out using my new Mega Classic Scalloped Ovals. Phew, what a mouthful!! I then sponged around the scallops with Memento Cantaloupe Ink. I love that colour!! I pop dotted the image, then I used the Kraftin' Kimmie Sentiment, 'Sending You a Note', heat embossing it with Copper Embossing Powder. I put a couple of tiny copper brads on the ends of it, then I used some copper ribbon across the middle.

Now, since I used Bartholomew for my card, that is what you will win, if you are randomly chosen from the entrants. The accompanying stamp is ' Let's Make Beautiful Music Together', so you will win that too. The one I used actually comes with Marie Antoinette, but I like it with Bart too, since he's playing some notes.

Don't forget to check out the creations on Krafty Kimmie's Challenge Blog and then get your mojo working and show us whatcha got.

Blessings,
Diana
