Buttons and Bows - Challenge #19

Well, here we are again, it's time for another challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie's! This week our amazing Andrea has challenged us to use Buttons and Bows on our cards. Not too hard, right?!! After last week's challenge, I'm ready for something a little less stressful. I did keep this one quite simple after sorting out 3 different matching papers. I just found I liked it better this way. Guess I'm a simple sorta person.
I used Whisper White for the card base. I coloured Clara with my Copics on Neenah White cardstock, cut her out with my circle Nesties, then matted her onto a pink Pinking Nesties Circle. I used some patterned paper from my stash and matted it onto the same pink, which was then matted onto the white card base. I found 3 cute heart buttons in my stash and threaded them with some green narrow satin ribbon. I then put some pink organdy ribbon across the bottom with a bow on it, then I punched out the sentiment with my window punch.
I'm also going to give you a little heads up about something very exciting that is going to start next week. Shhhh, I can't say any more, but if you go to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog, you will find a little more info there. We Krafty Girls don't keep secrets very well!!
Now let's see your creations with buttons and bows, use up some of that ribbon you have stashed away, you know you wanna. And all those buttons you are collecting, go crazy!!
Have a wonderful weekend,

Your Ship or Mine?!!

Well, that's a pretty sassy sentiment for me to be using, but it does work perfectly with this card. Our vivacious Vicki is the hostess for the challenge this week and she wants us to make a scene using two or more Kraftin' Kimmie images on our cards.

Gulp!! That was my reaction anyway. However, once I got really going, the more I got into it. I decided to use Cutthroat Lizzie and Captain Scurvy because if I positioned them the way I wanted, they looked like they were giving each other the eye. So then I coloured them in with my Copics. I really wasn't sure how to make it a scene as I only recently started to collect Copics and didn't have much to use for the background. I then thought of painting in 'sand' using some Gold Shimmerz and I was quite pleased with it. Then I sponged some chalk ink (one of only two I own), coloured and cut out the barrel of rum, which is the accessory stamp with Polly the Bar Wench. The sentiment I used is from the Pirate Sentiments, which are a part of the new release.

Make sure you check out the fabulous creations of all the other Krafty Girls over on the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge blog, then show us your creations. Now, you don't have to use two main images, you can just use one main image and an accessory stamp.

Have fun with it and show us what you come up with,

Woo Hoo!!! It's finally Release Day!!

Well, Release Day is finally here and all the new stamps are available on Kraftin' Kimmie's Website!! They are all so amazing, I love them all.
There are 4 fantastic new images from Crissy Armstrong, 5 new amazing pirate images from Annie Rodrigue, 2 adorable new Cindy and Mindy images from Jean Grant and a new set of coordinating pirate sentiments. You can check them all out if you join our fabulous blog hop.
To start from the beginning, go to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog. There are some fabulous cards on all of the ladies blogs. As you hop from blog to blog, be sure to leave a comment as 3 lucky ladies will win packages of stamps from the new release.
Now, if you have landed here from the very talented Michele's blog, you are in the right place.
For my card, I used Puddles of Love, which was created by the amazing Crissy Armstrong. This is one of the Emmylou line of stamps from Crissy's Cuties. This one comes with the accessory sentiment 'Puddles of Love'. However, since I have already managed to mislay said stamp, I used 'Think Spring', which is from Kraftin' Kimmie's Fairy Sentiments. I'll probably find it tomorrow, when it's too late. I really wanted to use that one. I used Tea Party papers for this card, added some flowers, pink rick rack and some pink gemstones. I coloured Emmylou with my Copic Markers.
Now, I haven't made you read too many boring details about my card, so now you can go on to the blog of our resident Komedienne and Krafty Girl, Andrea.
Happy Hopping, Ladies and have a wonderful Valentine's Day with your families,

Kraftin Kimmie's Feb. Release Preview Three!

Well, here we are again, back with day 3 of Kraftin' Kimmie previews. I'm having so much fun working with these great images. Today I am showing you Alicia, the Stawberry Pirate. Doesn't she look just tough and cute at the same time? She was so much fun to colour too with her patchwork skirt. As I think I mentioned yesterday, Kraftin' Kimmie has a gorgeous 5 x 7 print of Alicia to give away to a random customer who places an order on Sunday, which of course is Release Day, or on Monday. I've seen the print and it's awesome!!

Now today also starts Kraftin' Kimmie's Blog Challenge for the next week and our hostess for this week is the amazingly talented (and I'm not exaggerating) Melanie. She wants us to 'Stash the Booty'. That is to have a hidden compartment on our card somewhere. Now, I'm not sure if I'm breaking the rules, but I have to confess that when I was making today's card, I hadn't even thought about the challenge. The result was that I have nowhere left on the front of my card to hide anything!! What a goof!! So I decided I had to do something on the inside.

Well, back to the front first. I coloured Alicia with my Copics (I love being able to say that!) and punched her out with my Curved Rectangle Nesties. My dear daughter Kimmie gave me a couple of Versa Magic Chalk Inks for Christmas, so I got brave and tried to sponge around Alicia. Well, let's just say I need a lot of practice. I'm sure you can see where I boo-booed!! Anyway, I happened to have some really cute strawberry DP by K and Company (Berry Sweet), so I used that. The other strip is the reverse side of the paper. I embossed the Barely Banana rectangle with my EF. I forget what the bubbly folder is called as I threw the card away!!

I used some lovely twill type ribbon, which happens to perfectly match the Marvelous Magenta paper, which I still have lots of from before it was discontinued by S.U. I added some matching flowers and stamped 'It's Yarr Birthday' which is one of the Pirate Sentiments which you will see on Release Day.

Well, for the inside I stamped 'May Your Grog Be Bountiful' on a piece of Barely Banana which I had cut to fit inside the little envelope I made using the same DP as on the front. I also coloured and cut out the little barrel, which is actually called 'Polly's Rum' and is the accessory stamp for one of the other images!! I put a piece of Marvelous Magenta behind the envelope, having cut it out with my Scalloped Rectangle Nesties. Phew, I hope that was legal!! Do you think our fearless leader, who is also my DD will fire me? Hope not!!

O.K, that's it for today, make sure you come back tomorrow for our Release Day cards and awesome blog hop!!

May God Bless you all and grant you a safe and wonderful weekend.

Kraftin' Kimmie's Feb. Release Previews, Day Two

Okay, time for the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Friday Preview card. Today I'm using Bench Friends, which was created by artist Jean Grant. I just think this image is adorable, actually my favourite Cindy and Mindy image so far. It's so sweet and perfect for a 'friendship' card. The sentiment I used is the accessory stamp that comes with the main image. I love it.

I stamped the image on Neenah cardstock and coloured it with my Copics. I then used my Oval Nesties to cut it out and my Scalloped Ovals to make the frame in Rose Red. I used Barely Banana for the card base. Then I used some K and Company Wild Raspberry DP and used some more Rose Red behind the DP and added borders with my MS heart border punch. I added some Prima flowers beside the main image, put some Rose Red GG Ribbon vertically behind the image, stamped the sentiment on some Certainly Celery and there you have it.

Make sure you visit all the other Krafty Girls' Blogs today and see what fabulous creations they have for you to see. If you went to the blog of our fearless leader Kraftin' Kimmie yesterday, you will have seen that she has made an awesome card using Alicia the Strawberry Pirate. In fact, I think that Jeanne is using her for today's card. Well, if you haven't read about it already, I'm gonna tell ya! Listen up now. Alicia is the first image that has been created from Annie Rodrigue's original illustrations and every order placed on Sunday 14th. and Monday 15th. will be entered in the draw to win a 5 x 7 print of Alicia. I've seen it and it's gorgeous, wish I could win it!! I love all Annie's illustrations and her funky images are just so unique!!

Okay, I think that's me done for now, keep checking back with all us Krafty Girls, we will have more preview images for you and on Sunday, (Release Day) we will also have another Kool Blog Hop.

See you soon,

Kraftin' Kimmie's February Release, Preview Day One

Okay, so today is the first day of previews for the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps February Release. This month's stamps are just fabulous, they really do keep getting better. I don't know how Kimmie and her wonderful artists manage to keep coming up with all these great new ideas, but I just love them.
For my card today, I used Billy Blyth. He is very special to me because Kimmie named him for my father and grandfather. My maiden name is Blyth and I was raised for the first few years of my life in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England. Grimsby in those days was a bustling seaport and my grandfather used to be a skipper on deep sea fishing trawlers for most of his adult life. My father also loved the sea and went to sea with my Grandad on at least one occasion. Having Kimmie name this stamp for my Dad and Grandad is very special to me.
I used black for the card base and used some lovely colourful patterned paper on it (I don't know what it is as I scrounged it from Kimmie while we were all making cards there last week). I matted it onto Pumpkin Pie, then onto the black. I also punched two strips of cardstock in green and turquoise with whatever punch that is, as I thought waves would work well for Billy. I coloured Billy with my new Copics, matted him on burgundy, popped him onto the left side, then I tied some black cord near the top and attached the awesome skull and crossbones that my DD Kimmie gave to me, thanks Kimmie!! I stamped 'Ahoy Matey' on white, punched it out with my window punch, then set it on some oval punched black, put in a couple of Pumpkin Pie brads and I was done.
Now be sure to go to the blogs of all the other Krafty Girls and see what beautiful creations they have to show. And come back tomorrow for another preview of one of the February Release Stamps.

Kimmie's Birthday Card

Hi to all you crafty ladies, I'm posting on here today as I have a card I made for my darling daughter Kimmie last week and of course wasn't able to post it until I gave it to her on her birthday. As some of you may know, I drove to her house on her birthday to surprise her by having dinner cooked and ready when she came home from work. I made all her favourite things like roast beef, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Plus some veggies, but she wasn't as excited about those. It all worked out well and she was surprised, especially as Emi and I left my car on the next street so she wouldn't see it. Anyway, I stayed on until Saturday to help her with cutting and packaging stamps. I had planned to go there and do that the following day anyway, so it just gave us an extra day. Lots of fun!!
I used Gift Emmylou as my image as for one thing, she is perfect for a birthday and also because Emmylou is so named for our Emileigh, whom we nickname Emmylou. I used my wonderful new Copic markers, this was the first card I have used them on and Kim thinks I did not too badly for a beginner, so I'm happy about that. I can't remember the name of the papers I used as I've had them in my stash for a long time. I used my own simple layout , put some yellow and orchid GG ribbon across, added a flower combo and stamped 'Happy Birthday' from Kimmie's Everyday Sentiments.
This week all we Krafty Girls are working on preview cards for Kimmie's February Release, so be sure to check back onto our blogs, the first creations will be here on Thursday. I do have to say, I love them all and I'm sure you will too. Hope your Monday is a good one. Back later,

Kimmie, Andrea and Diana's Krafty Day

Well, hi and I hope you are all having a great weekend. Yesterday Kimmie, Andrea and I spent the whole day making cards and we had a blast. I have been staying with Kimmie and Emi and Al for a few days and we have been busy, so we took the day to have fun. We all made our cards for the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge which starts today. This week, the challenge is called 'Be a Little Ripper' and you get to do tearing on your cards. Since I am the hostess for this week and I used Emelia, that is the stamp the random winner will receive, along with the accessory stamp, which is a little plane. I didn't use the plane on this card, but I have used it on a previous one.

I coloured Emelia with my new Copic markers. It's so great to be able to say that as I've always wanted Copic markers, but it wasn't until last Christmas that I got to start my collection and now I have enough to work with, yippee!! I'm no expert, but I'm having fun trying. My daughter Kraftin' Kimmie is helping me. Anyway, I digress. I framed Emelia on some Old Olive, then on some My Mind's Eye papers, then ripped the bottoms of both pieces. I pop dotted Emelia on some more My Mind's Eye patterned paper, put a strip of Blue Bayou across the middle, which I had used my border punch on. I then matted everything onto a square of Old Olive, then onto a Chocolate Chip card base. I tied some Pumpkin Pie GG ribbon across the blue strip, glued some buttons in the upper right corner, stamped 'Going My Way' from the Steampunk Sentiments on some more of the patterned paper and I was finished.

So now it's your turn to 'Be A Little Ripper' and show us what you came up with. I look forward to seeing your creations.
