Well, here we go, it's Saturday again and time for another Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge. This week our awesome hostess is the super talented (and I'm not kidding) Sandie and she would like us all to make a summer type card. Before I start, I must apologize for the nasty colour of my card, but I didn't finish it until the evening and I just could not get a good photo. I don't have any of these lovely light boxes or contraptions for taking pictures and I rely on daylight. I hope you can make out what the card should look like anyway!
I used the lovely 'Sharing is Loving' stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie's Cheryl Alger collection. I love all of the adorable girls in this set and it looks like this one is out making daisy chains on a beautiful summer day. Just to make it more summery, I used patterned papers with kites on from the MME Lime Twist pad. My card base and the border behind the matching strip is Chocolate Chip and so is the punched base part of the sentiment layer. The sentiment is on Pumpkin Pie. I added some dark brown half pearls, tiny ones on the ends of the sentiment and 3 larger ones under the image layer. I used some caramel Baker's Twine and added a flower charm, which I coloured orange with a Copic Marker. I also added some Stardust Stickles in the centres of the flowers.
So go to it ladies, have a go!! Can't wait to see your summery creations.
Also be sure to check out Kraftin' Kimmie's Shop to see her Frugal Friday specials. This week they are Cordelia, Jack, Bug Buddies 1, Bug Buddies 2, Sugar and Spice and Snips and Snails. They are all 30 - 50% off for the weekend only.
Happy Stamping Ladies,
Diana

Okay, so if you have landed here from the blog of the Awesome Sandie, then you are still on the right track. I'm just going to tell you a little about my card and then I'll send you on to the next stop. For my card, I used Smee, the dastardly yet cute cohort of the infamous Captain Hook. I found Smee to be a bit of a challenge to begin with as I always struggle with masculine cards, but once I got started I had a lot of fun. After colouring Smee with my Copics, I decided to bite the bullet and fussy cut him out. I love to see it done, but I tend to be too lazy to do it myself. I wanted him to be a little bit too big for the Nestie I was using behind, I love it when the image extends over the border. For the white background layer, I used one of my Labels 14 Nesties and then adhered it to a Labels 7 Nestie, using a piece of Rose Red patterned paper from some S.U. Thoroughly Modern DP. The other patterned papers are also from the same pack. I used some matching baker's twine and coloured a silver charm with a Copic Marker to tie onto the twine. I added 3 matching buttons and coloured a treasure chest from Kraftin' Kimmie's Pirate Set, then I used 'Yer A Treasure', which comes with Smee along with 'It Smee and You'.
Don't forget, if you didn't start back at the beginning, go to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog, but if you've done that, your next step is to head to the blog of our wonderful Miss Kerry.
Be sure to leave some love at every stop for more chances of winning some of the newly released stamps!! What have you got to lose? Don't forget to drop by Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamp Shop when you are done and check everything out.
Happy Hopping,
Diana

Last Preview Day and Sketch Challenge!
Hi all and Happy Saturday to everyone!! As the title says, today is the last day of previews and as usual the day before a Release, we have a sketch challenge for you. Unfortunately I am having a problem downloading the sketch (I've been out of action for so long that I've forgotten how to do some things.) You will find it at Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog. I have more or less followed it, so it does look much like my card.
Anyway, today we are showing the new images from the wonderful Annie Rodrigue. This month's theme is Peter Pan and all the images are gorgeous. I have chosen to use Wendy for my card. I stamped her on Neenah White cardstock with my Memento Tuxedo Black ink and of course coloured her with my faithful Copics. I paper pieced her quilt with some of the lovely Cosmo Cricket 'Pixie-licious' papers that I used for the rest of the card. My card base is purple, as is the matting for the green polka dot strip and the frame for the image layer. I used some Baja Breeze to mat the background patterned paper to the purple card base and I used the same for the sentiment, which I cut out using one of my lovely Ribbon Banners Nesties. I finished up with some Prima Flowers and a mini rose.
Now you get to answer the challenge and show us your creations on Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog. The randomly chosen winner will receive the stamp that our hostess Pam has used on her card.
Now be sure to come back tomorrow for some more Krafty Kreations to see and for our Krafty Blog Hop. The new Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps will be available at the store at 1 a.m. for you to check out.
Have fun creating,
Back tomorrow,
Diana

Meet Lulu's Little Sister Libby!
Today I have a preview card of the soon to be released Lulu and Libby set of stamps from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I thought Lulu was cute, but her little sister is cuter still. This is the Dress Up stamp. There are two others in the set, one of them having a tea party and one of them just holding hands. They are all adorable.
I used Pumpkin Pie for my card base and also for the strips of border I used along the bottom and down the sides. I also stamped the sentiment in Pumpkin Pie. There are several cute sentiments that come with the Lulu set of stamps, but I used this one from Kraftin' Kimmie's Sassy Sentiments set.
I coloured the image with my Copics and used a rectangular Nesties to cut it out. I used the coordinating Scalloped Nesties to frame the layer in dark brown, which is repeated in the matting behind the patterned papers and the strip in the middle. I used M.M.E.'s Tickled Pink patterned papers and finished up with a few cute little flowers from my stash. If you go to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog you will see which other girls on the team have posted Lulu and Libby cards today.
Make sure you keep checking back each day to see some more awesome stamps which are to be released on Sunday. And make sure you come back on Sunday for our Krafty Blog Hop and a chance to win some of this new rubber!!
Back later,
Diana

Kraftin' Kimmie's June Previews - Thank You Trinkets!
Hi all you crafters out there! I hope life is treating you well. Today is the first day of Kraftin' Kimmie's June Previews leading up to the release and Krafty Blog Hop on Sunday. These trinkets are all so cute and can be used as the focal point of your card or as your sentiment or just a point of interest. For my card I cased a lovely card sent to me for my birthday by my dear friend Connie. I'm afraid my second picture with the card open does not show the trinket very well, but I couldn't seem to take a picture where everything worked together. Guess I have a lot to learn about photography!!
The only papers I used were a 12 x 5 1/2 piece of S.U. Tea Party D.P. for the card base and a piece of Wild Wasabi matted onto white for the sentiment layer, also a small circle of white for the trinket. The pieces of striped paper used to decorate the front were just the scraps cut from the top edges. So easy!
If you head on over to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog, she will show you which of the other DT members have trinket cards for you to see. Tomorrow we will be previewing some new Lulu stamps, so be sure to come back and check them out.
Till then, happy hopping and crafting,
Diana

Kraftin' Kimmie's New Mermaids
Hello all you stampers out there! I'm afraid I have been missing for a couple of months. My husband and I have moved and it's been quite a trial. We had lived in our town for 44 years, spending 22 of it in our last house. We have moved about an hour and a half's drive away to the town our darling daughter Kraftin' Kimmie and her family live in. Needless to say, this has been a big deal for us and we have been very busy unpacking and trying to make our new house a home.
I have so missed the crafting and being a part of the blogging world, but I have finally got around to starting again and hope to be around a lot more.
I have joined the Challenge this week, which is called 'Under the Sea'. It's perfect because Kimmie came out with a new Special Release just yesterday called 'Sea Jewels'. You may have already seen from the other girl's blogs that there are 3 gorgeous little mermaids, which come in a set. I chose to use the little mermaid who is sitting hugging her knees. I used Early Espresso for the cardbase, the frame of the image layer and for the matting on the strip of patterned paper. The papers are from My Mind's Eye and are called A Beautiful Life. I use a decorative punch along the bottom of the E. Espresso border and I punched out a couple of little seahorses, also in E. Espresso. I added the sentiment 'Birthday Fishes' which is one of the 7 adorable sentiments which come with the set. I finished up with a yellow satin bow. So there you have it. Now we would like to see what 'Under the Sea' projects you can come up with. Link up your creations to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog for a chance to win the mermaid Jenny is using as she is our hostess for this week.
Till next week, Happy Stamping and may God Bless You,
Diana
