Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge 80! Hand Sewing!!

Well, Hello to all you guys and gals out there! I think I have to start saying guys as I keep hearing of more and more of you who are into cardmaking. We really should not leave you out!! If you are a guy, I would love to check out your work, so please leave a comment so I can find you.

O.K., so this week our fabby Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge hostess is Carole Burrage. Carole has just very recently joined our crazy team and we're thrilled to have her. Welcome again, Carole!!! I know she is going to be a perfect fit since from what I can see, she is as crazy as the rest of us and that's a good thing. In fact I think it's a requirement!!

Now, Carole has asked us to use some hand stitching on our cards. I think that's an awesome challenge, but since I'm the senior member of this group, I'm from the era when a lot of us sewed. I did have a few ideas, but I'm afraid I've only found time to use one this week. For my card, I used the adorable Krista (named for our own uber talented Krista Vantol). I picked this image as I thought it would be fun to sew the strings on the tennis racquet and I was right. I'm afraid the sewing doesn' t show up as much as I would have liked, but I wanted to stay with the neutral colours of racquet strings. Here is a close-up of the racquet.

As always, I coloured Krista with my trusty Copics, then of course I did the sewing. I cut out the image layer using Curved Rectangle Nesties. I then sponged around the outside before I took the image out of the frame. Once again I don't know the name of the patterned paper! My DD and I often buy packages and split them and I only recently got smart enough to write down the name of the papers and keep it with them!! I added some Certainly Celery Ribbon across the middle and a couple of pearl flourishes in the top and bottom corners. I also put a couple of matching Prima flowers in the top left corner with some Baja Breeze corduroy button brads and I stamped 'Life is a Ball' and punched it out using Baja Breeze cardstock to match the B. Breeze card base.

So that's it. I am dying to see what you gals and guys are going to come up with. I'm sure you will have much more creative ideas than mine. Don't forget that some lucky person is going to win Roxy, which is the stamp Carole is using!! Roxy is the roller blader and she comes with the sentiments "Just Roll With It" and 'That's Just How I Roll!" You can find this image and many more at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

Have a fabulous weekend and I hope you can find a few minutes to stamp or colour something!!

Blessings,
Diana

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge 79! Use text on your card!!

Good morning and I wish all of our Canadian crafters a very Happy Victoria Day weekend. Monday is a holiday, woo hoo!! Lets hope we have some awesome weather for it. So far here in S.W. Ontario, it's looking pretty good. We had a lovely sunny and warm day today and it's looking good for tomorrow.

Well, now to this week's challenge. This week our hostess is the very talented Tara. She always comes up with original ideas for challenges, not to mention her amazing paper crafting. I love Tara's style!

I managed to do 2 cards this week. The first one uses Engineer Ethan, one of the super cute Steven Leary images from the Kraftin Kimmie May Release. I found I had some neat train paper to use with him and it has ChoooooChooooo written all across it. Bonus!! I stamped the image on some Neenah Vanilla cardstock and coloured it with my Copics. I cut the layer out using my rectangular Nesties and framed it on some Tangerine Tango using my Scallop Nesties. I pop dotted the frame onto the patterned paper and I'm afraid I can't remember what it is as I've had it so long. I stitched it onto some Gable Green C.S. and matted it all onto some Very Vanilla C.S. I added some orange gingham ribbon and some hardware with 'Hugs' from Kimmie's Every Day Sentiments stamped on Vanilla inside it.

Now for my second card, I used the wonderful verse from I Corinthians 13:4-8. I love that Kraftin' Kimmie has done a set of Scriptural Quotations this month. I love all of them and I know I will use them a lot. I have already sent one to a friend and the verse was perfect.

For this card, I stamped the image with Chocolate Chip ink onto Very Vanilla, cut it out with my square Nesties, then framed it on some Groovy Guava cut out with my lovely Lacy Squares Nesties. I popped it onto some gorgeous Prima 'Botanical' patterned paper with a delicate script over it, which I then framed with some Old Olive and rounded all the corners. I set that on some more of the matching 'Botanical' paper, matted it onto some more Groovy Guava, then onto the card base, also Old Olive. I threaded some Olive organza ribbon through the lacy frame and tied it in a bow. I added a matching charm in the corner of the verse and some green gems in all the corners. I kinda like how this one turned out.

Well, that's me for this weekend, now don't forget to show us your cards with 'text' on them and be sure to link them up to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog for a chance to win Janelle, which is the stamp that Tara is using on her card. Janelle comes with 2 sentiments, 'You Knock Me Out' and 'You've Got The Power'.

Till next week sometime,

Blessings to you all,
Diana

Gift Bag

This is just a quick post, I'm afraid I've missed most of Kraftin' Kimmie's Preview and Blog Hop for the May release of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. My computer went down and I was out of action for a couple of days. Thank goodness for my son in law who came to my rescue and had said computer back to me in a couple of days!!

Well, now I need to get back to making my Kraftin' Kimmie cards. I am working on one, but I just wanted to show the gift bag I decorated to give to a friend a couple of days ago. I found the instructions in a craft magazine and thought it was neat. I have changed it a bit, but it's similar.

O.K., back to work,

Have a wonderful day,
Diana

Day 2 of Previews for Kraftin' Kimmie May Release!!

So today we are featuring the new set of Kraftin' Kimmie Krafty Quotes from the upcoming May Release. I love them all as they are all Scriptures. Today I have used Proverbs 27:9 and I know just who I'm going to send it to.

I stamped the Quote in Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla cardstock, then used my Nesties Labels Four as my image layer. I then took the same die and cut around the outside of it to make a slightly larger frame to set behind the image layer. I used Old Olive for this. I popped it onto some K and Company Wild Raspberry patterned paper. I matted that onto some more Old Olive, then onto my card base of Barely Banana. I added some Pretty in Pink Flourish Accents from Spellbinders and put some green gems in the corners. A simple card, but sometimes I like simple.

***Now....would you like to win the new set of Scripture Quotes??? Then just leave some love on each of the posts from the Krafty Girls and Guests and one random commenter will WIN!!! Hop on over to the Challenge Blog to see the complete list of blogs and get commenting! We'll announce the winner tomorrow!!***

Be sure to come back tomorrow when we will be featuring another of our fabulous artists.

Diana

Time for Previews for Kraftin' Kimmie's May Release. Wonderful new artist too!!

Hi everyone! Yes, as the title says, it's that time again!! Yet another fantastic release of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!! I am just loving these new images, especially as we have some fresh and exciting talent joining Kimmie's team of artists.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is thrilled to introduce a new artist to the mix....her
name is Cheryl Alger! You may recognize her name from Sassy Cheryl's where she
creates digital art. Cheryl is creating a brand NEW line of images,
specifically for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! These stamps will ONLY be available at
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and ONLY as unmounted rubber stamps! Now here's a bit
about Cheryl!

I grew up outside of Staunton, Virginia, but now live in the Richmond, Virginia.
I absolutely LOVE to draw and always carry a small sketchbook with me in case
inspiration strikes me while I'm out and about.

I have been creating digital art now for about 12 years now and have licensed
my work to companies such as Kohl's, Hobby Lobby and Shopko, among others, for
over eight years. I started creating digital images about two years ago. It's
been a lifelong dream to become a working artist, and besides deadlines, I LOVE
everything about what I do! It really helps that I have a very supportive
husband and son (they also can be my biggest critics! I have to admit, I LOVE my
job!

I am using one of Cheryl's adorable images for my first card. This very sweet image is 'Spring Friends' and was great fun to colour. I coloured this cute little girl and her friends with my Copics and cut her out with one of my square Nesties. I framed the layer with some Certainly Celery cardstock and used some lovely Sandylion Girl Paper behind her. I used some Bashful Blue CS to border the block of PP on the right of the card and some Cameo Coral to mat the main PP onto. The card base is Certainly Celery. I used some Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon down the right side and stamped 'Sweet Springtime' on some Cameo Coral and punched it out with my oval punch. This sentiment comes with the main stamp. Be sure to check out the cards of all the other Krafty Girls as we are all showing Cheryl's images today. Also make sure you come back tomorrow and see what Krafty Peeks we have for you then!!

Oh, an update from Miss Kraftin' Kimmie herself. She is planning to give away all 3 of the new Sassy Cheryl stamps to a lucky randomly picked winner. All you have to do is leave a comment on our posts for a chance to win. So, if you do that on all our posts, you will get more chances at winning the super cute stamps. Go for it!! Kimmie will announce the winner tomorrow!!

Till tomorrow, may God Bless you greatly.

Hi all you Happy Stampers out there. First of all I must tell you that Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is celebrating National Scrapbooking Day and Mother's Day by having a big ol' SALE!!! And some of these images will be retiring shortly, so get them before they are GONE!!! (Cannot be combined with other coupons/discounts!)

Now to the other business of the day. This week our challenge is to use Kraft cardstock on our cards. Our hostess this week is the Tantalizing and Talented Tracy. Tracy lives in Chatham so is only a few miles away from me. I had the pleasure of meeting 'Ribbons, Buttons and Pearls' at the launch celebration for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, but I haven't seen her since. We have had a few krafty days and get togethers since, but either I was not there or Tracy wasn't there. One of these days we will connect once more. Anyway, I love Tracy's work and I would love to watch how she colours with her Prisma pencils as I am hopeless with them. I can barely function with Copics!!

Okay, so I used Astronaut Andy for my card. Andy is one of the April Release of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and he is perfect for a boy card. I coloured him with my Copics, then cut him out with my rectangle Nesties, then framed that layer with some Kraft cardstock, then used my Scalloped Nesties behind that. I used some K and Company Summer Travel DP, matted onto some Bermuda Bay C.S. and then onto my card base of Kraft cardstock. I added some Kraft Taffeta ribbon and I used the sentiment 'Flyin' High' from Kimmie's Steampunk Sentiments and attached it with a copper brad.

So now you get to make a Krafty creation and be sure to link it up to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog for a chance to win some new rubber!
